WHAT IS B&F
Barista & Farmer,
now in its fourth edition,
is the first international show
dedicated entirely
to the world
of top-quality coffee
A unique and innovative education & competition project for
the promotion of coffee culture, through all stages of
processing, using various different technologies, right up to
the experience of tasting and all consumption opportunities.

LIVING LIKE A PICKER
For 8 days
ten baristas can
experience the deeds
of living like a picker,
working in a coffee farm.
Competitors will wake up at dawn to spend the morning in the plantation,
picking coffeebeans, learning about the different stages of the coffee production
process.

LEARNING AT THE ACADEMY
THE COFFEE ACADEMY BASED ON SCA MODULES
The protagonists will have the opportunity in the afternoon, through
the dense Academy educational program, to receive a well-rounded
education with the best experts in the field, on the various aspects
that make up the complex chain of coffee.
Each day will be marked by lectures on specific subjects such as
botany, agronomy and chemistry applied to the field of coffee, as
well as sessions on coffee working methods, such as roasting,
green and coffee sensory, alongside specific lessons on espresso
coffee, tasting sessions and 'field' demonstrations, including
practical test designed to sharpen competitors 'skills'.
Final tests will be based on SCA educational system.

In the last editions the project development has been supported by:
- Specialty Coffee Association of Europe
- farmers in coffee countries of origin, such as: O' Coffee Brazilian Estates, Finca Santa
Isabel, Fincas of Cooperative Las Capucas, Hacienda San Pedro and Lambarì community
- more than 100 baristas from all over the world
- 21 sponsor companies and 11 media partners
- coffee lovers and consumers reached through B&F social media and public events
