Summer
      Letterbox
Mark your calendars for May 28, when the 2022 Summer
Letterbox Adventure kicks off! Part geocache and part
scavenger hunt, our letterbox fun will get your family out in
nature and exploring the parks while they use clues to find the
                     hidden letterboxes.

NEW THIS YEAR is the inclusion of 4 Delaware City Parks for a
total of 12 letterboxes to be discovered. Find at least four
letterboxes and you’ll take home a prize!

All information will be available in late May at

PRESERVATION PARKS OF DELAWARE COUNTY - WHAT'S INSIDE
Each day we look out our windows, check our phones, or listen to
meteorologists to see what weather the day will bring. Year in and year out, we
learn what weather to expect as part of the climate we live in. No matter where
we live or travel, weather and climate impact every aspect of our lives from
food supplies to infrastructure to the natural world around us. And we have
learned that our human activities impact weather and climate too.

Join us this year as we celebrate the incredible dynamics of weather, climate
and human activity. Interact with displays on weather events, experience an art
show highlighting the effects of climate change on birds, enjoy weather and
climate themed education programs and special guests, along with movie
nights, and more as we explore the “Climate Connection”!

FOR THE LOVE OF BIRDS
May 27 – Sept. 5
DHP Visitor Center
Enjoy a summer art installation entitled “For the Love of Birds” by artists Julie Turrentine
and Caroline Blizzard. The exhibit is borne out of the artists combined love of nature
and, more specifically, birding. Pairing with the recently released Audubon Society
climate report “Survival by Degrees”, the exhibit features the artists’ beautiful melted
glass birds along with stunning photography throughout the space. The visitor will be
taken on a visual journey, showing how Ohio’s resident and migratory birds will be
affected by climate change.

CLIMATE CONNECTION EXHIBIT
May 29 - Sept. 5
Shale Hollow Lodge
No umbrellas or snow boots needed, just bring your curiosity about weather with you
this summer. Explore various hands-on displays related to weather phenomena including
tornados, microbursts, hot air/cool air dynamics, air pressure, and thunder and lightning.
Also learn how the earth is affected by climate and weather changes, and how each of
us impacts the climate on a daily basis.
