the Chief Executive Officer for GVK’s Australian
operations. Prior to this, Mr. Yeates served as Chief
Operating Officer and Acting CEO for Rio Tinto Coal
Australia, and brings over 30 years experience in
coal mining operations, mine infrastructure and
resource sector industries. His expertise would help
GVK to now focus on developing the Alpha, Kevin’s
Corner and Alpha West mines, having now secured
a swag of state and federal approvals.

GVKPIL leads in CDLI Score for utility sector in CDP-13
GVKPIL participated in the CDP(Carbon Disclosure Project) Climate Change Program and has
secured a CDLI score of 84, to lead the utility sector in CDP-13 (as compared to the sector
average of 76). CDP recognizes companies with high-quality disclosure as top scoring companies
in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI).Earlier GVKPIL scored 82 in CDP 2012 and 75
in CDP 2011. This high CDLI score in CDP-2013 has been possible because of energy efficient
projects and airport accreditation programs to curb carbon emissions.
