The D i ff e r e n ce
Pulp Riot only uses the highest quality vegan
ingredients chosen for their reparative and
restoring properties to maintain and improve the
                               integrity of the hair.

In addition, we selected superior dye molecules
to create longer lasting colors that can be
professionally removed from the hair with less
                               effort and more consistency.

Finally, we use more expensive pigments with
deep rich color that increase longevity and fade
beautifully while staying within the same tone as
the original shade. Blues don’t fade green, and
                               pinks don’t fade into salmon.

Our commitment to using the best ingredients
means that with each application, hair is healthier,
allowing for longer lasting beautiful color.

The underlying pigment in the canvas plays a big part in the end result. Make sure to compensate in
your formula or pre-tone the hair if needed to create your desired shade. We also recommend strand
testing to ensure the best result. The lighter the hair, the brighter the result.

Smoke on a white canvas (great)

                  Blue Based
Smoke and Noir are both blue based colors, so they need to
be carefully formulated to the underlying canvas.

Blue was chosen as a base because it has superior fade, and
it mixes well with other colors.

Important: any remaining yellow in the hair will cause a
slightly green end result because the yellow and blue will
create the green. Add a small amount of velvet to your
Smoke formula to cancel out the yellow in the canvas.

Prep
Before applying, hair should be clean and dry with no
conditioner/treatments in the hair, as they can create a barrier
between the color and the canvas.

Application
Fully saturate each section, 1/2 inch sections recommend.

Process
Process at room temp for 25-40 min - no heat needed.

After-Care
Client should not shampoo for 48 hours after color application.

Longevity
For best results and maximum longevity, clients should use a
sulfate-free shampoo and supplement with a dry shampoo.
How should I prepare the canvas?
We suggest doing all of your lightening first and thoroughly cleansing the hair
(no conditioner) before applying Pulp Riot color. Lightener can eat away at the color
molecules, causing spotting or banding in the end result.
                                                                                               FAQ
How long does it process?
The processing time is 25-40 minutes without heat. After processing, we recommend rinsing with cool
water, without shampoo. Conditioning the ends is optional.

Tell me more about Mercury, Smoke and Noir?
Mercury is silver with a violet base that should be used on a level 9 or 10.
Smoke is dark grey with a blue base that may create green results if there are yellow tones.
Noir is black with a blue base and can used sparingly in any color to make it darker.
Please watch our video on youtube to better understand Mercury, Smoke and Noir.

How long does the color last?
Pulp Riot lasts longer. Why? Because we use superior quality dyes. When formulating color there are
thousands of dyes to choose from, and we did not skimp or cut corners, whatsoever.

Generally, for most people, the deeper tones will fade beautifully over 42 washes, and the lighter
tones will fade over 25 washes until the color is fully out. Neons will fade over 25-30 washes.

Is Pulp Riot tested on animals?
Never.
Is Pulp Riot color vegan?
Yes, and gluten-free, ammonia free, paragon free, PPD, and MEA.

How do you use the “Clear” color?
Clear can be used to dilute the colors to make them lighter or pastel.
                                                                                           FAQ
Will the color stain my skin, sink, floor, clothing, furniture, etc?
Care should be used to make sure the color doesn’t get on other items. We recommend using gloves, using
protective barrier cream around the hairline, and rinsing the color out of hair in a salon shampoo bowl.

Do you have color swatches?
We have a beautiful Swatch Chart

Can Pulp Riot color be used on extensions or wigs?
Yes, however, the color results may vary.

Can Pulp Riot colors be mixed and does Pulp Riot bleed?
Yes, Pulp Riot colors can all be mixed with each other to created custom colors.

Generally Pulp Riot colors don’t bleed like other color lines. You can see on our Instagram feed, hundreds of
different photos where one color is placed next to another color without any bleeding.

To minimize bleeding, you can hold the lighter pieces out of the shampoo bowl for as long as possible before
rinsing after processing. Noir is our most pigmented color; therefore, care should be taken when placing it directly
next to a lighter color to minimize the chance of bleeding.
