From The Principal 's Desk...
Dear Parents,

If you’re walking down the right
path and you’re willing to keep
walking eventually you will make
progress. We need to inculcate
and imbibe right values in our
children and teach them that there
are no shortcuts for success. A disciplined life and righteous approach
will ensure success sooner or later in life. Success is achieved through
perseverance and hard work and we need to make our young children
understand that money alone is not a parameter to measure success.
Being human is the key element to be a successful human being.

In addition, we ask that you guide and support our children’s learning
by ensuring that they:
• Attend School daily and arrive on time, ready for the day’s learning
experience
• Complete all homework assignments given by teachers
• Read daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literary skills
• Share school experiences with you
• Know that you expect them to succeed in School

We all have the potential that is limitless when compared to the extent
to which we have our talents. My message is meant to encourage all
Dipsites to take the canvas of hope and the brush of a glorious vision
and paint your own portrait of excellence!

Warm Regards,
Dr. Pushpy Dutt
Principal

LEADERSHIP CAMP
Young Leaders Bloom In Lap Of Nature...

On 3rd August 2018, the Student Council members and the teachers
of DPS, Nashik set out on an astonishing Leadership Camp. At the
first destination, Kailash Hills, the students enjoyed Burma Bridge
crossing. The next destination was Kajauli Parbat, where the
students trekked towards their camping site. The students were
thrilled and nervous about the water rappelling activity. They
encouraged their fellow team members to perform and let go of their
fear. The hide-and-seek of showers, the sunshine, greenery and the
fresh air made the indulgence in nature a pleasurable activity. Whilst
rejoicing amidst the wilderness, the students also learnt about being
responsible towards it. After the tiring activities, the growling
stomachs were fed with a delicious lunch. The next destination was
Grape County Eco Resort. The students, eagerly looking forward to
staying at a farmhouse. They quickly freshened up for the indoor
games like talent show, passing the parcel, and antakshari. The
games helped in developing the students’ interpersonal skills. The
students displayed their hidden talents through all these
programmes. All the teachers also participated in the games and
boosted their enthusiasm.
The highlight of the evening was Principal Dr. Pushpy Dutt joining in
all the merriment. She also narrated a few interesting incidents of her
school and college days. The funniest session was on 'mimicry,'
where the students mimicked their teachers and vice-versa. After a
day full of fun and frolic, the group devoured a heavy dinner and an
equally yummy dessert. The day concluded with students dancing to
their heart’s content. The next day, the bus departed back to Nashik
and the students reached their homes with a lot of memories to
cherish for a lifetime. The Camp saw a lot of new leaders emerging
to don the mantle of leadership in various roles.

INDEPENDENCE DAY
                  CELEBRATION
DPS, Nashik held a prior, grand Independence Day Celebration on 13th
August 2018 for its Pre-Primary, Grade 1 and 2. Students arrived holding
their grandparents' hands for the function. Our Principal, Dr. Pushpy Dutt
welcomed the Grandparents who were the honourable Chief Guests for
this patriotic function. A special dance, skit and choir was presented by the
students and a few of the grandparents gave speeches to show their
appreciation for this delightful gesture. They were overwhelmed to see
their grandchildren perform on stage and this made them feel on top of the
world. A vote of thanks was given by the school and the function ended on
a sweet note with a distribution of sweet boxes and happy hearts.
At DPS, Nashik, Independence Day dawned bright with the arrival of
students and teachers on 15th August 2018. The tirangaa was hoisted by
the Honourable Chief Guest Col. Bhasker Gupta, an executive officer at
Training Regiment, Artillery Centre, Nashik Road Camp, Nashik. He was
accompanied with our Director Mr. Siddharth Rajgariah and Principal Dr.
Pushpy Dutt. The national anthem was sung with patriotic fervour followed
by a 'Flag Song' to salute the tri-colours of India. Col. Gupta connected
instantly with the students as he turned out to be an alumni of DPS, RK
Puram, New Delhi. His introduction gave us an insight into his myriad
accomplishments. He was welcomed warmly by our Director and Principal.
The programme began with the Choir Group who presented the song,
'Mujhe Dushman Ke Bacchon Ko Sikhana Hai.' A rapid quiz on 'I Love My

Dance Medley,' independence day speeches in Hindi and English were

play atleast two sports out of which one should be an outdoor sport. He
reiterated on making healthy and disciplined choices which would benefit
them for life. He gave an insight on the ‘Indian Army’ as a career and also
mentioned a few unconventional career options apart from engineering

        A Thrilling Learning Experience!

Teacher formed 4 teams consisting of 10 students each. Lots were
drawn to select 2 students from each team. The rules of the game
were explained to the students. Each student was given different
number of chances to throw the dart at the dart board. Based on
the points area where the dart landed, the student scored
points. A scorekeeper kept a tally of the points scored by each
team on the board. At the end of the game, students were asked
to guess the winner. After their guesses, teacher explained why it
wouldn't be possible to tell the correct answer this way and
then the use & need of calculating average in context to the game
just played. Students calculated average score of each team
                        and the winner team.
