Excursions at a Glance for our ‘Rounding the Southwest

Peninsula’ Voyage. There is so much to explore within the British

Isles, whether you are enticed by the history of some of our

iconic cities or wish to enjoy the great outdoors and contrasting

landscapes. The following Shore Excursions at a Glance will

hopefully give you a taster of what to expect on your wonderful

voyage and our Destinations Team will be pleased to provide

you with more detailed information and assist you with your

bookings once you board the Golden Horizon.

Covid Regulations
In order to align with changing COVID regulations and to

ensure the safety of our guests and communities, timings,

content, and capacities will be adjusted as needed. Many

venues are currently closed and some inclusions, venues, or

destinations may be removed or replaced, subject to their

availability and local regulations. Should any excursions be

cancelled once you have booked on board, you will be fully

refunded for the cost of your excursion.

Lyme Regis
Sunday 1st August 2021

Sometimes dubbed the “Pearl of Dorset”, it lies on Lyme Bay at

the Dorset–Devon border. Atmospheric coastal town with pretty

georgian streets, ancient harbour. Home to famous georgian

fossil collector, Mary Anning. No trip to Lyme Regis would be

complete without fossil hunting, and the Lyme Regis Museum.

Abbotsbury Sub-Tropical Gardens and Swannery – Half Day

Visit the beautiful Sub-tropical gardens where you will have

time to wander and relax over some light refreshments at the

heart of the colony of nesting Mute Swans.

Explore the heart of the UNESCO Jurassic Coast where the

beaches between Lyme Regis and neighboring towns are

world famous for fossil hunting.

Poole
Monday 2nd August 2021

The Old Town has Georgian houses and Poole Museum, which

explores local history. From Poole Harbour, boats head south

to Brownsea Island. This wooded area has trails and wildlife

such as red squirrels, plus 16th-century Brownsea Castle, now

a private hotel. The harbour is a drowned valley formed at the

end of the last ice age and is the estuary of several rivers.

Mystical Stonehenge – Half Day

Enjoy an awe-inspiring visit to the enigmatic Stonehenge – a

World Heritage Site and the world’s most famous stone circle

which remains a mystery.
