Mission of Saint Viator's Co-Curricular Program:
Saint Viator High School believes that by offering a variety of programs to students that
encourage them to achieve the highest standards, we are able to maintain an outstanding
reputation in all areas of education, activities and athletics.

The student activities program exists to support, complement and enrich the personal, social and
academic lives of our students. The activities program supplements a student's academic growth
by providing lifelong learning experiences and a greater opportunity to develop their interests,
talents and abilities beyond the classroom structure.

Goals:

         • Extend and enhance student academic learning
         • Provide opportunities for students' pursuit of established interests and development of
          new interests
         • Enhance the opportunity to develop responsibility, leadership, fellowship, cooperation
          and self-direction
         • Promote school spirit and pride
         • Recognize students for many different types of achievement
         • Provide for widespread participation by the entire student body
         • Foster more effective teamwork and communication between students and staff

LIONS are young men and women of Saint Viator who pride themselves as students and
members of our community. They not only represent themselves and their families but also their
fellow classmates, the school, and their moderators and coaches. They will strive to be leaders
and conduct themselves in such a manner as to be praised as exemplary young men and women.

                                           Student Pledge
“As a member of the Saint Viator High School community, I promise to conduct myself in a
manner that reflects positive Christian values. I will respect others at all times – my fellow
students, my parents(s)/guardian and teachers, coaches, and moderators. I will demand a 100%
effort of myself in the classroom and co-curricular activities. I will accept responsibility for my
own actions and report any threats or harassment of others, which endangers our school
community. I will follow the rules and guidelines in the Parent-Student Handbook. I make this
commitment to myself and to you, my classmates, to always be a Lion bringing honor to my

Recycling Corps
This student-directed group’s goal is to make Catholic Social Teaching’s tenant of “Care for
God’s Creation” come to life at Saint Viator High School in a variety of ways. One way the club
helps to reduce the school’s impact on the environment is through the weekly, after school
recycling program. The Corps collects the recycle bins from classrooms and offices, and empties
them into the outdoor recycling dumpster. Other “green” projects will be explored by the group.

The Justice League
We are a social justice club that encourages student leaders to commit to the Viatorian value of
standing with the least accounted for. We incorporate community based learning, advocacy
projects, and theological reflection to provide students with the tools to create positive social
change. Throughout the past few years we have: participated in Viatorian Border Immersions,
sent student delegates to the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Salt Lake City, planned a
student-led walkout in support of March for Our Lives, and hosted a school-wide student Trivia
Night to raise awareness about access to global education. If you want to learn how to be an
upstander during your time in high school, join us!
