Best Bred by Exhibitor of Breed will be judged following completetion of each breed's
Best of Breed judging. Best Bred by Exhibitor of Breed will be awarded from the First
Place winners in the Bred by Exhibitor Adult & Puppy Classes. If the Best of Winners
is awarded to a dog/bitch coming from the Bred by Exhibitor Class, the Best Bred by
Exhibitor of Breed win is automatic. Bred-By Exhibitor Variety Groups will be held.
Best Bred-By Exhibitor in Show will be judged prior to Best in Show.
Group and Best in Show judges will be announced on the judging program.

ALL ATTENDEES NOT COMPLYING WITH THE RULES SET FORTH MAY BE
SUBJECT TO A BENCH HEARING
1. If you are sick, have a fever or cough or have been exposed to someone who is - PLEASE
DON'T COME.
2. Masks must be worn over the nose and mouth if required by the judge - If you can't do
this - PLEASE DON'T COME.
3. Masks, if required by judge, must be worn under face shields - If you can't do this -
PLEASE DON'T COME.
4. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, if required -
PLEASE DON'T COME.
5. If you can't follow the rules set in place to keep ALL of our exhibitors safe - PLEASE
DON'T COME.
6. EZ UP space is limited, so come early if you want a spot. Exhibitors requiring the use of
generators will be placed in a designated area.
7. At judges discretion - Exhibitors will show bites - start practicing.
8. Judges may be digitized into professional photos.
9. There will be a limited number of food trucks available - all social distancing rules apply.
10. City of Surprise, all event staff, security and club members will be monitoring all
exhibitors at the event. If you are stopped and questioned, please be polite. We have
been working extremely hard to put on this dog show and any negative attitude will not
be tolerated. You will be asked to leave the grounds if deemed necessary.
11. Anyone displaying symptoms of respiratory illness - fever, cough, chills, muscle pain,
headache, sore throat, shortness of breath - will be asked to leave the venue immediately.

1. The entire Mark Coronado Park property and hotels listed in this premium list are con-
idered to be the Show Grounds. Exhibitors are responsible for picking up after their
dogs. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION BY THE SHOW
COMMITTEE.
2. Dogs are not to be left unattended in vehicles overnight at hotels - this is a benchable
offense.
3. Please pick up after your dog, should any accidents occur.
4. Security: 24-Hour security will be provided at Mark Coronado Park.
5. Access to show grounds will be available on Thursday from 3:00-6:00PM.
6. NO FLEXI-LEADS PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON SHOW GROUNDS.
7. FIREARMS ARE PROHIBITED FROM THE SHOW GROUNDS. ANYONE FOUND TO BE
CARRYING A FIREARM WILL BE EXCUSED FROM THE SHOW.

Overnight RV parking on asphalt, no electric available. Orangewood RV Center located at
11405 W Bell Rd, Surprise has 24/7 dump facilities and fresh water available.
Reservations for Overnight RV parking will be accepted as soon as the Premium Lists are
published and must be received before noon, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, after which time
advance reservations will not be accepted. Overnight RV Parking: $40.00 per night. $45.00
per night after that time and at the gate on a “space available” basis only. ONE VEHICLE PER
SPACE (A TRAILER/RV & TOW VEHICLE WILL BE CONSIDERED ONE VEHICLE).
If you want to park with someone, you must arrive with them, no exceptions.
There will be NO assigned spaces.
Tow vehicles must unhook and park in the same spot.
RV’S WILL BE PARKED THURSDAY 2:00PM - 9:00PM,
FRIDAY/SATURDAY 6:00AM - 9:00PM, SUNDAY 6AM
You may use your own generator (your generator must be shut off between 10:00PM and
6:00AM). Generator exhausts must be vented upward at least 8 feet above ground level.
Dogs must not be left out after 10:00PM; the Kachina Kennel Club provides security
throughout the night, and dogs left out overnight can become a disturbance when the guards
are patrolling the aisles.
PARKING REFUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE AFTER THE CLOSING DATE.
Parking is a privilege extended by the Kachina Kennel Club and may be withdrawn from those
who do not follow the rules and instructions of the club’s parking representatives.
RUDE or ABUSIVE LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

the weekend. Vehicles will be admitted at 6:00AM each show day.

LEAVING YOUR DOG IN A HOT CAR MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO ITS HEALTH
When it’s 80 degrees outside, a car can heat up to over 120 degrees in just minutes. In
temperatures that high, a dog could easily die. That’s why the American Kennel Club
recommends that owners never leave dogs alone in a car during the warm weather. IF
IT IS NECESSARY TO RESCUE A DOG from a parked car on the show grounds, the
Club will not be responsible or liable for any damage to the car involved.

1. Please read the Covid rules and regulations.
2. There will be limited space for tents - Generators allowed in the designated area only. If
that area fills up, over flow generators will placed on the grassy area outside the field.
3. The show committee will mark all crating space. Only approved crating and grooming
space may be used.
ROPING OFF OR OTHERWISE RESERVING CRATING AND GROOMING SPACE
IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
4. The show committee reserves the right to require the stacking of crates and any other
remedies it may deem necessary for consolidating space on a case by case basis.
5. Each exhibitor is responsible for maintaining and leaving their area in a clean condition.
6. Crates, tables, and other paraphernalia are not to be left at ringside. Any such items left
at ringside will be removed by the show committee.

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling
competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners that are
not professional handlers. All dogs that are owner-handled and
are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers* meet the
requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their
dog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the
check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by
an asterisk in the judge’s book, steward’s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handled by an
eligible owner/handler for the AKC NOHS throughout the breed level (all classes, Winners,
and Best of Breed) competition. Additionally, dogs must be handled by an eligible owner/
handler for all AKC National Owner‐Handled Series competition (Group & Best in Show).
Owner-Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete
in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the
non-regular classes. No class dogs other than the Winners Dog & Winners Bitch are eligible
to return to the ring.
*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a
professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or
represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years.
**A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time
basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any time during the cluster/weekend.
Current assistants that are eligible to compete in Junior Showmanship (meet age & amateur
status requirements) may participate in NOHS.
USE OF RAMPS - ALL BREEDS
A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show
secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be
examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp).
At the discretion of the judge, the following breeds may be judged on the ground or on a
ramp through all levels of competition: Lagotto Romagnolo, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers,
American Water Spaniels, Boykin Spaniels, English Springer Spaniels, Field Spaniels, Welsh
Springer Spaniels, Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, German Pinschers, Standard Schnauzers,
American Staffordshire Terriers, Irish Terriers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Staffordshire Bull
Terriers, Finnish Spitz, Entlebucher Mountain Dogs, Finnish Lapphunds, Icelandic Sheepdogs,
Norwegian Buhunds, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, Spanish Water Dogs, and Norrbottenspets (Misc.).
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition, the following breeds may be
judged on the ground, a ramp, or on a table: Whippets, Miniature Bull Terriers.
At the discretion of the judge through all levels of competition, the following breeds may be
judged on a ramp, or on a table: Mudi.
The following breeds must be judged on a ramp through all levels of conformation
competition: Clumber Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels, Basset Hounds, Cirneco dell’Etnas, Kerry Blue
Terriers, Bulldogs, Chinese Shar-Pei, Chow Chows and Keeshonden.
This extends to all conformation competition at AKC conformation dog shows and any AKC event
where a conformation title may be earned. This policy includes Group, BIS, Junior Showmanship,
the 4-6 Month Beginner Puppy Competition, the AKC National Owner-Handled Series (NOHS),
and all other special attractions that offer Group and BIS competitions. Ramps can be used in
emergency situation to judge any breed.
In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor
has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp
may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds. (01/2023)

The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed (Variety) Competition:
Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which according to their owner’s records, have
completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed.
The showing of unconfirmed champions in Best of Breed (Variety) Competition is limited to
a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for
a championship. Select Dog/Bitch, where applicable, will be chosen immediately following
Best of Breed competition. This will be followed by NOHS & Best Bred By Exhibitor of Breed
competition.

JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION
Kachina Kennel Club will not be participating in the Canine Partner program for
Junior Showmanship at either of the all breed shows.
NOVICE CLASS: This shall be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18
years old on the day of the show and who at the time entries close have not won three (3)
first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class.
OPEN CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the
day of the show, and who have won three first place awards in a Novice Class or if a win
in Novice leads to a Best Junior with competition present it will count as one win towards
moving to Open in a licensed or member show.
MASTER CLASS: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18
years on the day of the show, and who have 10 Best Junior wins with competition.
NOVICE AND OPEN CLASS DIVIDED: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day
of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show;
Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show.
After the judge has awarded the Best Junior Handler, the second place winner from the
class that the Junior was awarded Best Junior Handler is to return to the ring to compete
for Reserve Best Junior Handler.
NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each
entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education
Department, 919-233-9767. BE SURE ALL INFORMATION for Junior Showmanship Classes is
entered on front and back of entry form.
NOTE: SUBSTITUTION OF DOG IN JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP AT THE SHOW(S): There will
be an Administration Fee of $5.00 charged for any substitution of dog in Junior Show-
manship at each show. In addition, if the dog originally entered in Jr. Showmanship was
an additional entry, and the dog being substituted is not otherwise entered in the show,
the Junior Showmanship Only fee applies.

SANCTIONED FOUR-TO-SIX MONTH (BEGINNER PUPPY) COMPETITION
SATURDAY ONLY
The Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition shall be for dogs that are four months of age and
over but under six months on the day of the event. Classes will be offered for breeds and
varieties and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying
to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. The
Miscellaneous class competition will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner
will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show. The FSS competition
will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best
Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show.
Entry and Eligibility
Entry and eligibility requirements include:
• AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC
recognized breed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.
• A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.
• FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for Miscellaneous and FSS
breed entries.
• All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s
protocol.
• Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but
must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any
person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed
rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay
within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants and household
members of a professional handler.
CLASSIFICATION - CLASSES COMBINED – Puppy, 4 & under 6 months
NO PUPPIES UNDER THE AGE OF SIX (6) MONTHS, EXCEPT THOSE PARTICIPATING
IN THE 4-6 MONTH PUPPY COMPETITION, MAY BE ON THE GROUNDS.
