Online Courses

● Online courses provide students with added flexibility; however, they are not a good fit
    for everyone
● Students should ensure that their learning style and abilities suit online learning (i.e.
    highly self-motivated, self-disciplined, organized, etc.)
● Online schools are not affiliated with Sentinel Secondary, therefore it is the student’s
responsibility to register for courses online
● Students should ensure online courses are recognized by the BC Ministry of Education
● Prerequisite courses must be completed (i.e. final marks posted) no later than August 15 if
students are requesting the next level course for September
● Sentinel cannot guarantee a spot in requested courses at Sentinel, especially if the
requests are for courses one or more grades ahead (note: priority goes to students in
    higher grades)
● Students should be aware of possible implications for post-secondary admissions (e.g.
some schools/programs do not accept online courses)
Thank you!
