ABOUT THE COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona responds to the root causes of hunger,
and seeks to restore dignity, health, opportunity, and hope to people living in poverty.
Our mission is to change lives in the communities we serve by feeding the hungry
today and building a healthy, hunger-free tomorrow.
With your support, we provide food to families and children across five counties of
southern Arizona through a network of community-based programs. We work with
schools, libraries, nonprofits, neighborhood groups, and more to make sure that no
person goes hungry.
We also work to end the root causes of hunger and build a healthy local food system
through programs like job training, farmers’ markets, garden education, nutrition
education, leadership development, community farms, and more.

WHAT IS HUNGERWALK?
WALK WITH US!
HungerWalk is a fun, family-friendly event, a chance to get out, get active, and give
back. Join us for HungerWalk 2021 on Saturday, September 11th and walk to raise
awareness and end hunger in our communities.
This year, HungerWalk is a hybrid event—you can join a small meet-up group to walk
together in person, join our virtual walk by walking when and where it works for you,
or donate online to support other walkers. As part of your registration, you’ll receive
a HungerWalk t-shirt to wear during your walk to raise awareness about the cause.
Wherever you walk and however you give, you can be proud knowing you’re making
a difference for families right here in southern Arizona.
Want to make an even bigger difference? Spread the word! Invite your friends and
family to donate to your campaign or join you for HungerWalk 2021.
What’s a meet-up group?
Ready for some in-person socialization? Join one of our small group
meet-ups to get your walk in with other community members. All groups
will be walking between 8-10am. Safety and socially distancing will be
encouraged!
Attendance is capped and space is limited. To RSVP for a meet-up group,
please register for HungerWalk and follow the prompts to select your
location.

Individual adult walker (individuals 12+): $25
Individual youth walker (ages 6-11): $10
Children under the age of 6 participate for free
What do I get for my registration fee?
• Personalized fundraising page to share why you are participating in the HungerWalk
• Access to fundraising tools such as sample email templates, social media content,
and more to help spread the word to family and friends
• Support from Community Food Bank staff to assist you with your fundraising efforts
• Adult walkers (12+) will receive a HungerWalk t-shirt, youth walkers (6-11) will
receive a Hungerwalk T-shirt and a Hunger Hero cape, child walkers (5 and under)
will receive a Hunger Hero Cape with registration
• Opportunity to win fun and exciting prizes!
• Team Captain support
What are funds used for?
Your registration fee, and any additional funds you raise, fight hunger today by providing
meals to our community. Funds also support the broader work of building a healthy,
hunger-free future, including community gardens, farmers’ markets, nutrition programs,
advocacy, and other initiatives that address the root causes of poverty and hunger.
Donations can be made online at communityfoodbank.org/HungerWalk or by mailing in
a check to the address below. Please have checks made out to the Community Food Bank
and make sure that “HungerWalk” is written in the memo line.

REGISTRATION Is my registration tax-deductible? Yes! 100% of your registration cost is tax-deductible and will help the Community Food Bank support our community and provide food to families. Where can I pick up my t-shirt? All participants will receive a HungerWalk swag bag and t-shirt! Bags can be picked up at all Meet-up locations or at our drive though pick up locations below.
