Welcome to Our Global Campus
SPRING Semester 2021
Global Campuses Foundation (GCF), a 501(c)(3), supports adults with differing
abilities worldwide in the development of campuses for higher learning.

                                                     Marshall attends Global Campus
                                                     Saint Johnsbury, and Global Campus
                                                     Music nearly every week. He has been
                                                     attending Global Campus for many
                                                     years,and has recently reinvigorated
                                                     his love for teaching during our
                                                     distance learning sessions. Over this
                                                     past year Marshall has taught classes
                                                     on karaoke, and Kenny Rogers. In
                                                     his spare time Marshall loves to play
                                                     games and listen to country music.

OUR NATURAL WORLD

Take a journey with us this academic year as we
explore our natural world. From the depths
of the oceans to highest mountain peaks,
we will learn about the world around us,
what part humans play and what we can
do to preserve our natural resources. Each
campus will find unique and creative ways to
explore this theme as the year unfolds through
science, art, music and literature.

Virtual Learning
In person classes were suspended last spring due to COVID-19 but our learning
continues! The campuses meet weekly and many participants have continued
teaching via Zoom. Spring semester begins at the beginning of April and we will
continue our learning virtually and follow VT Department of Health guidelines
about when we can meet again in person. Please join us this spring for some
exciting online classes!

How to Participate at a Global Campus
AS A STUDENT LEARNER PARTICIPANT you can register for educational offerings and
become a learning member of the campus;

AS A FACULTY PARTICIPANT you can teach and share about a subject, topic, skill,
and/or experience;

AS A STAFF PARTICIPANT you can become a staff member of the campus supporting its
development and successful operations.

AS A COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER: Community volunteers are encouraged to participate in
a variety of ways: assisting participants with research and class planning, supporting
our faculty participants during their classes, co-teaching classes and helping with
community service projects. Academic Coordinators can provide more information on
specific needs at each campus.

contest “The Voice.” In this class you will learn about the careers of the celebrity
judges, and how this competition has changed the lives of many.

2 ELVIS PRESLEY

The Karate Kid. In this class Nic will tell you about the original Karate Kid movie that

trip. There are many beaches all over the world that have a lot to offer visitors and
vacationers. Join Angela in her class about some of her favorite beaches.

6 ABENAKI MUSIC

Abenaki Musician Justin Thunderbear is practiced in Native American drumming and
flute, instruments that are rooted in his ancestry, and date back hundreds of years.
In this class, Justin will share with you some of his favorite Abenaki songs, and the
meanings behind them.

7 DISNEY DURING COVID-19

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way our world operates, as well as the
policies and procedures of many of our favorite places. Florida amusement park
Disney World has had to adapt the rules of the park to ensure the safety of all patrons
during this unprecedented time. Join guest presenter Aiden Nishiyama as he uses his
personal experience in post Covid Disney to explain how the park has changed.
