For all of you getting to grips with home learning, I hope that this week has gone well. We have been phoning parents during
the week to check on how things are going and we have been so grateful for your lovely comments and support for the re-
mote learning we have put into place.
We feel that by offering recorded lessons and activities, rather than a full timetable of live lessons, we can help you to be as
flexible as possible in how you manage home learning. Myself having older children in secondary school, I am aware that the
pressure of sitting through 5 hours of live lessons within a day is not particularly good for anyone’s mental health (or eye-
sight!). Our structure allows you to support your child at times of the day that are convenient to you (that fit around your own
home working commitments) and also ensures that your child has ample rest breaks and opportunities to be able to stay ac-
tive and get some fresh air. As it gets dark very early at this time of year it’s important that children are able to do this during
the day, as they would in school during playtimes and lunchtimes.
Next week we will be sending out a forms survey about our remote learning offer to help us to continue to improve our provi-
sion. Please take a few moments to fill this in for us. Your opinions and feedback are really important to us.
Finally, I recorded an assembly for everyone this week which can be found on the school website. It’s important that we hold
on to our hopes and wishes at this difficult time. Remember… this will not last forever and we should look forward to the fu-
ture in a positive way. Why not have a go at making a hopes and wishes jar at home?
Take care and stay safe,
Mrs Brown

Nursery Joshua AnkersOur theme in Reception this term is called 'Tell me a story.' Over the next few weeks we will be reading and exploring
lots of different stories. Last week, we came into school and we found a crime scene. We needed to use the clues to find
our which story we would be reading first. This week we have been comparing and ordering the size of different objects
from the 3 bears and our own houses, retelling the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears as designing and making a new
chair for Baby Bear. We are very proud of all of the Reception children who are working very hard both in school and at
home with their families. Mrs Thompson and Mrs Kynaston

REMOTE LEARNINGY1
The children in Year 1 have been
working hard with counting in 2’s 5’s
and 10’S.
At home, we have been just as busy. Eva and Henry
have both written fabulous scrolls stating their rights
as a child. Alfred has been using a place value chart
to show then number of tens and ones in two digit
numbers and Lucy has been creating lists of people
and places, making sure they begin with a capital
letter as they are proper nouns!
Brilliant work everyone.
We have enjoyed working as a team to create different models.
We also joined in with Joe Wick’s Live PE REMOTE LEARNING
session – he got us ready for the day!Well done to Y3 for their first week of home learning on Seesaw. You have engaged brilliantly and been working
hard on a range of subjects including art, science and character education. We have really enjoyed seeing what
you have been up to and have been impressed at how many ways you have found to post, from photos to vide-
os to annotated slides and drawings.
Keep up the hard work, Year 3.

Young Voices 2021
Young Voices is a unique singing experience where children will join other primary schools to form a choir
of about 5000 all performing together. St Peters has been part of this amazing experience for the past 2
years.
This year St Peters have been allocated 30 spaces to perform at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham
on Thursday 24th June 2021.
The restrictions on rehearsals in school will mean that anyone involved will need to be dedicated to learning the song list
mainly at home via the Young Voices website, plus some after school rehearsals (when safe to do so and with appropriate
safety measures in place).
Have a look at the Young Voices website to see why this is such a special event https://www.youngvoices.co.uk
If your child would like to take part, please contact
Mrs Shepherd by email (shepherd.m@st-peters.shropshire.sch.uk) with message subject either:
“YV2021 – book a place” - if you are ready to be part of the St Peters YV choir
