In the year that we celebrated the 30th anniversary of Nunnery Stud MUKHADRAM continued to distinguish himself as an excellent value

stakes successsponsorship Shadwell expanded its sponsorship portfolio in 2019, with the organisation contributing more than £400,000 across four meetings in Britain and France. High-class fillies TEREBELLUM and TROPBEAU were among the winners on the Shadwell-sponsored eight-race card at Deauville on the opening day of the Arqana August Yearling Sale, while our flagship event at Newmarket on the Friday of the Cambridgeshire meeting featured the thrilling five-length victory of BENBATL in the Shadwell Joel Stakes. Shadwell continued its sponsorship of the Dick Poole Stakes at Salisbury and launched a £25,000 bonus for any filly who won that race as well as the Rockfel on Shadwell Day. The double was not achieved this year, but the quality of the Salisbury contest was underlined when the short-head runner-up MILLISLE came out and won the Cheveley Park Stakes. The similarly strong form of the races sponsored by Shadwell at Ayr during the track’s Gold Cup meeting was illustrated when ABERAMA GOLD, successful in the Shadwell Stallions Nursery Handicap, won the Listed Rockingham Stakes weeks later. Shadwell sponsorship reinforces His Highness Sheikh Hamdan’s support of the sport he is so passionate about, and gives us the chance to show our ongoing gratitude to the owners and breeders who use our stallions or purchase their stock.
