We at Shadwell take great pleasure in welcoming clients to the race meetings
we regularly sponsor. The Covid-19 pandemic meant we were unable to host
such events in 2020 but His Highness Sheikh Hamdan’s commitment to
supporting racing in these troubled times has remained steadfast.
Home silks were carried to victory by TAWKEEL in the Shadwell Prix de la
Nonette at Deauville in August, while FEV ROVER and THORIN won the other
feature races on the card, the Prix du Calvados and Prix Daphnis.
Shadwell once again sponsored the Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury
in September, with HAPPY ROMANCE taking the often informative
Group 3 contest. However, for the second year in a row, the runner-up in
the race turned the tables on the winner in the Cheveley Park Stakes, with
ALCOHOL FREE triumphing at Newmarket weeks later.
The day preceding the Cheveley Park Stakes at the Cambridgeshire meeting
on the Rowley Mile is traditionally the centrepiece of our sponsorship
programme. The Joel Stakes, the feature race of Shadwell day, was won by
2,000 Guineas hero KAMEKO, while the exciting ISABELLA GILES was a HAPPY ROMANCE shows a decisive turn of foot to

the safe return of spectators is achieved. Trainer: Richard HannonCareers at Shadwell Shadwell enjoyed an outstanding year in 2020 with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan owning no fewer than six winners at Royal Ascot, while across Europe there were Group 1 victories for BATTAASH, MOHAATHER, NAZEEF and TAWKEEL. And you could be part of it in future. There are numerous opportunities across the various Shadwell studs, pre-training yards and estate to participate in our success, from working with the young stock to helping oversee the stallions and broodmares. Shadwell careers offer a competitive salary and benefits package and, in certain cases, on-site accommodation. Training and personal development are available, along with career progression where possible.
