EARSTWILE DISTRICT AT A GLANCE
   The last General Elections were conducted in erstwhile state of Andhra
    Pradesh during the year 2014. i.e. in month of April and May, 2014.
   Elections have been conducted for (2) Parliament Constituencies and (12)
    Assembly Constituencies in Nalgonda District during the last General
    Elections -2014.

   During the re-organization of Districts / Mandals, (1) Parliament
    Constituency and (6) Assembly Constituencies were moved to
    other District i.e. Yadadri Bhongir and Suryapet.
   At present (1) Parliament Constituency and (6) Assembly
    Constituencies are existing in Nalgonda District.

EVMS & VVPATS
   EVM means Electronic Voting Machine & VVPAT means
    Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail.
   The Election Commission of India has introduced the
    VVPATs in conduct of Elections for first time in Telangana.
   The AC wise Polling Stations in Nalgonda as detailed below:

 Due to introducing of VVPATs, the Commission has
  instructed that the maximum limit of the voters in the
  Polling Stations is 1200 and 1400 in rural and Urban
  areas respectively.
 The Commission has allotted the following quality of
  Allocation of Bus/CUs and VVPATs:

VVPAT - VOTER VERIFIABLE PAPER AUDIT TRAIL

    VVPAT

       allows the voters to verify that
       their votes are cast as intended.
Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail is an independent system,
attached with the Electronic Voting Machines, that allows the
voters to verify that their votes are cast as intended.

When a vote is cast, the elector shall be able to view through
the transparent window of the VVPAT, the printed paper slip
showing the serial no, name and the symbol of the
candidate of his choice.

The slip remains exposed through the window for 7 seconds,
after which it automatically gets cut and falls in the sealed
drop box of the VVPAT.

Since 2013, VVPATs are being used in selected constituencies
in every Legislative and Parliamentary election.

EVM – VVPAT AWARENESS
               ACTION PLAN
   (60) VVPATs will be allowed to Nalgonda District for
    awareness
   Training will be conducted at District Level for all
    EROs/AEROs/Other Dist Officials etcs.,
   Training/ Awareness to the Political parties and Media
    will be also conducted at District/AC and Mandal Level.
   (60) Teams will be formed for awareness on VVPATs.
   These Teams will move around the District covering all
    villages, GP, Mandals.
