Stay Safe | Parent Information – Bromham CofE Primary School

The current planning from the DfE is that primary schools will reopen from 8th
March for all pupils. Our current plan will see Bromham CofE Primary open from
    8:40am on Monday 8th March.

This is very much dependent on progress in containing the Coronavirus continuing
and the Government being clear that certain conditions have been met.

The following guidance has been produced by our staff at Bromham CofE Primary
School to inform parents on ways they can and should contribute to the safety of
    their child(ren)’s school attendance.

    Before school

     ● Ensure your child is well enough to attend school. If in doubt, please call the
office on 01234 822784 BEFORE bringing your child to school
     ● If your child or anyone in your household is displaying symptoms of COVID
19, please inform school immediately. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO
SCHOOL. Please take your child to a testing centre to be tested for Covid 19
before returning to school. Call 111 or visit www.nhs.co.uk
     ● Ensure children wear a new set of clean clothes each day – if this is not
feasible with school uniform then please send your child in alternative
appropriate clothing; please DO NOT go and buy new uniform at this point in
         time
     ● No belongings, other than lunchboxes and water bottles where applicable,
are to be brought into school
     ● Ensure everyone leaving the house washes their hands for 20 seconds using
         soap and warm water
     ● Take the opportunity to remind children about safe practice such as coughing
into elbows, ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’, not touching face etc

 The journey to school

      ● Plan your journey in good time; it is imperative that children arrive on time
          and at the correct entrance
      ● Walk only with family groups - children will be excited to see one another but
they must remain socially distant (2 metres or more)
      ● Avoid public transport; take the opportunity wherever possible to walk or
          cycle to school
      ● If you have to use the car, keep the number of people in the car to a minimum
and ensure handwashing/sanitising occurs before leaving home
      ● Avoid popping to the shop on the way, do this on the way home if required
      ● Please make a note of your start times as these are different for each school
site. We are asking all parents not to gather outside the gates and that you
wear a face covering at all times whilst on school grounds

 Arriving at school

      ● Ensure you arrive at your child’s allocated entrance into school, on time
      ● Remain at least 2 metres away from others at all times, staff will be on hand
to instruct parents. Please ensure that you listen to their instructions and
          follow the 2-metre rule
      ● Should you wish to contact a member of staff please use their email address
          or leave a message via 01234 822784
      ● Once children are dropped off, please leave the school premises immediately,
continuing to abide by social distancing guidelines
      ● Late arrivals must wait at the main entrance door and use the intercom to
alert a member of the office staff.

    Pick up

     ● Ensure whoever is picking your child up is on time and collects your child from
their allocated collection point. They should try to arrive as close to the pick-
up time as possible to minimise the numbers of people waiting around
     ● Please wear a face covering at all times whilst on school grounds
     ● Remain at least 2 metres away from others at all times. Please follow the
         instructions of staff
     ● If you have any messages or question for staff we ask that you use teacher
         emails or phone 01234 822784
     ●   Depart the school grounds promptly and adhere to social distancing rules;
children should not be playing on the playground at the end of the day as gates
         will be locked promptly

    Absence from School March 2021

Please let us know early in the day by 9:05am if your child is going to be absent from
school. All parents must ensure that school is informed of a child’s absence. You
need to call 01234 822784 to do this. If you need to speak to someone because you
need extra help or are worried, please leave a message or ask to speak to Ms Mohan
and we will make sure someone contacts you as soon as possible.

If your child is absent we will try to contact you. We will do this by phone call. We
may also contact other named contacts provided by you if we cannot reach you and,
if we are very concerned, we will contact other services that can help ensure your
    child is safe.

Please keep us up to date with contact details. Let us know if your mobile number
changes and make sure that, wherever possible, we have another named contact we
can call if we cannot get hold of you. This is very important if there is any kind of
    emergency.

*Please note, all the gates will be open across both sites so there is more flow of
traffic from different directions rather than from one entrance. Gates will open 5
mins prior to the start times above.

In order to ensure the safety of our whole community we have continued to stagger
the start and pick-up times very slightly for everyone from 8th March which you can
   note from the table above.

Please help us to keep everyone safe by making a note of your child’s entrance and
the time. We ask that parents do not gather outside the gates and follow the 2m
rule whilst waiting to collect or drop off your child.

    The Two Metre Rule

Please help us by following the instructions of our staff and respecting a 2-
metre gap between all members of our community. This is in place to keep
all members of our community safe.

        School Devices

All school owned devices that have been loaned to children
must be returned to school by the end of week beginning
        Monday 8th March 2021.
These will be quarantined and cleaned before returning to our
        classrooms.
To ensure you do not receive an invoice for a missing item we
are asking all parents to return the devices via the main office
        at Grange Lane only.
This will allow us to check the device and sign it back into
        school.
Devices should not be given to class teachers or sent via the
        pupil entrances.
Please ensure you include any cases, power leads and cables
that were included with your device when it was issued.

Thank you again for your continued support and
                              understanding.
