With employers continuing to express the need for closer links between industry and
higher education, JCU Brisbane introduced the Leading to Work Program. This Program
is offered exclusively to JCU Brisbane Bachelor of Business students, with a key focus on
developing professional skills for employability within their field of study.

In class, students will have the opportunity to work as part of a team on industry
projects and work with corporate leaders. Students also participate in industry visits
and other professional business tours. Professional internships are a key component of
the Leading to Work Program. This valuable opportunity sees top performing students
gain hands-on training in an Australian business. Students will work as a member of the
team and will be given the opportunity to develop professional skills by undertaking set
tasks allocated by the employer.

To prepare and equip our students to be employer-preferred, work-ready graduates,

“Studying at JCU Brisbane has been the best decision I have
made because the facilities here are great, and the support we
get from the Joblinx department is amazing. Also, the great
friendships I have fostered here has really made my time
                        worthwhile.

My favourite part of my degree is the professors here! They
are so helpful and supportive. Whatever questions we may
have, they answer promptly, and they also stay back after the
lectures so that we can talk to them. I think that is really good.”

“JCU Brisbane is awesome! I think that’s the best word I can
use to describe what I am enjoying right now. My studies
are just cool. My lecturers are very nice and I’ve been able to
make new friends from different countries.

Living in Australia has given me the opportunity to meet
people from different walks of life, different backgrounds.
This is the first time traveling outside of my country and I
can say that I am really enjoying it. ”

“When I decided to study at JCU Brisbane, it was and still is very well known for
it's graduate employability and that is what I was looking for in the long run. JCU
Brisbane is the place where talent is recognised and awarded the right way. They
have friendly professors encouraging me every step of the my journey that pumps
me up with confidence that I'm doing alright and I can continue to do better!

I love the fact that I can explore my options while enrolling for subjects. I’ve enjoyed
all the subjects of IT so far and in particular the MBA subjects, that I feel might have
opened new doors for me. I’ve had the chance to strengthen my abilities in subjects I
have dealt with in my bachelors, and I also got to learn new concepts which helped me
realize what I find challenging and I need to work on. JCU Brisbane is the go-to place if
you are wanting to go BIG in life.”

“My university experiences at JCU Brisbane have been amazing. Upon doing the Master
of Education/ Master of Business Administration program I was exposed to learning
subjects that talked curriculum, pedagogy and different kinds of learning techniques
used today. It was fairly new to me and I felt like it enhanced my knowledge. JCU
Brisbane is a very welcoming place, and from the very first day, I felt really warm and
at home here because of the small class size, and all the events that keep happening, this
gave me the opportunity to study new things and also meet and make new friends.”
