CREWING UP!

• If you’re a skipper looking for crew, or crew looking for a
  boat:

• South Bay Yacht Racers Resource Center – www.yrrc.com

• Greg Rutter can assist– grrutter@gmail
Safety above all

 • Skipper is responsible for the safety of the crew
 • Orient your crew; fire extinguishers, VHF radio, MOB
   procedures, first aid kit, etc.
 • NEVER endanger other boats regardless of the rules
 • The Corinthian Spirit of Sailboat Racing:
The “Corinthian Spirit,” may be best expressed by the statement that you sail by the rules even when no
one is looking. It also means, no yelling or swearing and no bullying your fellow sailors. When the one
with the loudest voice wins – we all lose.
CODE OF CONDUCT

• Each race entrant and skipper is responsible for ensuring that all members of their crew, support personnel and their guests
abide by the laws, public health orders, and guidance from government authorities and/or CYC applicable to sailing and/or shore
side activities in effect during the event to minimize potential exposure to or transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

• A link to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health guidelines for recreational boating and public gatherings will be
posted on the Official Notice Board when it applies to the event.

• Failure to comply with NoR 4.1 may be misconduct.

• Reasonable actions by event officials and CYC to implement COVID-19 guidance, protocols or legislation, even if they later prove
to have been unnecessary, are not improper actions or omissions.
RACE ABANDONMENT/WEATHER

• Please do not call the club. RC will notify the Sunset Series email list immediately upon making the
decision to cancel. If boats are already on the water the RC boat will also broadcast abandonment
on VHF as well as fly the Abandonment flags.
• The race can be called at anytime but the RC will endeavor to make the decision as soon as
