 The Vocational Pathways are a tool that provides a clear framework for
 vocational options, support better careers advice and improve the links

 The six pathways represent a new way to structure and achieve NCEA

8-36 weeks                                                    UCOL's Academy programmes are available to secondary school
                                                              students seeking to explore their career options while still in
Secondary school students can gain Level 2 and level 3        school
credits within these unit standard based programmes whilst
staying at school. STAR programmes run for 8 weeks ap-
prox. USKILLS & Dual Pathways programmes run for 38
weeks approx.

Agriculture                                                   You will be given online access to download these modules for a
Provider: Land based training                                 full year as well as ongoing support from our experienced Tutors
STAR courses are held weekly for half or full days and are
held at LBT classrooms with practical components held
on-farm. Schools may also opt for classes to be held at the
school.
Student numbers are set between 10 and 12 per course to
meet health and safety policy requirements, and also fits
well with van transport to practical facilities.

STAR programmes are short, taster-style classes that help
students explore career options and make informed decisions
about their future schooling, work or study

Trades Academy
Provider: Ag Challenge
Trades Academy students study at least one day a week over
three to four terms and gain NCEA credits. The learning takes
place in a practical and hands-on environment using industry
standard equipment and technology relevant to your chosen
career path. Students develop the foundation skills needed to
progress to further study opportunities or move directly into
employment
