What is a Level 4 course
and why do I need it?
There is a lot of confusion and mis-information over the new rulings on education/Level 4. Our Level 4
courses have been made in response to recommendations from the Keogh Report, and from the HEE, to
raise standards in our industry. A ruling has been made that all micropigmentation and
micro-needling practitioners should have a Level 4 education.
There is a plan to create registers of accredited technicians. Safe practice is the aim of the ruling and
regulating/making practices accountable for the health and safety of their patients/customers. Rather
than creating one long/costly micropigmentation ‘umbrella course’, which would take days away from your
practices, and be costly, we have chosen to break down the required learning into 3 procedural groupings
of: SPMU (semi permanent makeup), Microblading, SMP (scalp micro procedures).
We feel insurance companies and health authorities will be the vehicles to steer safe practice. Many
technicians are calling, needing Level 4 courses as a matter of urgency. We have spent many
months compiling our courses so that we are here and ready with the required learning process for your
streamlined learning needs.
Is this or will it ever be law? It is our understanding that it will never be law as it will not be submitted to
parliament.
Is this going to affect me now? Local councils & insurance companies may decide to enforce the
guidelines. Check with them first to see if this applies to you.
Can I practice without a level 4? In principle yes, but you would need to ensure that you are operating
within a council and with insurance that has not implemented the new guidelines.
Do I need to do a full level 4? No as long as you work with a company that takes into account your prior
learning and you fulfil the learning outcomes set, you can receive a certificate for your chosen protocol
only. Then go onto complete the overall level 4 at your own pace.
If I am a level 3/4 therapist already, how does this effect me? This is a much easier pathway as you
already have a proven historical education. You are commended for your education which gives you more
options.
What about the other accredited programmes. Are they better? All Level 4 programmes must follow
the same rules so they will be comparative. Our programme was designed to be supportive and relevant.
One course in micropigmentation is not suitable for all areas of the body. For example, you can do
Level 4 as a SPMU technician and think you have the required knowledge to tattoo a scalp or a breast!

How much money do I need
to invest in my new career?
As an example, we have listed our most popular course, machine and kit.
The training cost for a SPMU Level 4 accredited course
with a Vogue machine and a Platinum kit is £7,350.
With VAT, it comes to £8,820.
We suggest that you could charge £300 for a brows procedure, but this may depend
on the area in which you are based. Each procedure will need a total of
2 treatments to achieve the perfect end result.
Each treatment would therefore cost £150.
Cost in consumable goods is approximately £20 per treatment –
the total being £40 for the two treatments. This includes trolley set-up,
needle and pigment.
Your profit per treatment would be £130
or £260 across the whole procedure.

You are investing money in a new career.
Please ensure before you train that you have time to commit to learning
and an understanding of how to market your business to get the required clients.

Practice does make perfect. After you have trained, you will need to fine tune your skills,
practice regularly on fake skin to improve your technique, and if you wish,

WHAT IS SPMU
(SEMI PERMANENT
MAKEUP)?
SPMU, also known as micropigmentation or permanent cosmetics, is simply expertly applied
makeup with techniques offering 24/7 ‘looks that last’.
The procedure involves implanting tiny particles of coloured pigment beneath the surface of
the skin, (much like a tattoo), to create make up looks that stay put.
Advances in the industry now mean that SPMU has choices as well as answers. From soft
powdered effect eyebrows to single hair replication, luscious lips in an array of colours for
definition and balance, to eyeliner as fine or bold as your client desires.
Our most popular course is our SPMU diploma course. This course will teach you to work across
brows, eyes and lips in all areas of facial features. Our course is the entry point for individuals
who either wish to set up their own cosmetic tattoo business or who would like
to enhance the treatments already offered at their salon or clinic.
You do not need to have any prior experience but a creative flare, an eye for detail and a desire

Microblading is a technique whereby pigment is implanted into the skin
with a manual tool. The manual tool has a fixed, small, disposable blade
with various amount of needles. They are stable and every hairstroke is
created with one single hand movement. The depth of the pigment
implantation will not reach the deepest layer of dermis, producing an
effect of extremely fine and natural looking hair.
Our microblading course will take you from beginner through to
competent technican over 5 days. The course is a balance of theory,
demonstrations and practical work on both practice material and

alternative to brow tinting.

The full day option includes brow design, shaping and waxing as a

Medical micropigmentation is adding colour to the face and body anywhere that colour is
missing from injury or trauma, birth defect, post surgery or as an alternative to surgery.
Our process involves implanting EU pharmaceutical medical grade hypo-allergenic pigments
into the skin, using a machine that has over 20 different needle configurations. We do not
implant as deeply as a regular tattoo, as colour adjustment and repositioning may be required

Dermaplaning is a safe, effective way to rejuvenate the overall health
and appearance of your client’s skin. It is a non-invasive, easy, fast and
painless approach to helping your client’s skin stay refreshed and
youthful. It requires the use of a sterile, surgical scalpel to gently
‘shave’ the skin's surface, removing the top-most layer of dead skin
along with fine, vellus hair/peach fuzz. This hair can trap dirt and oil,
causing breakouts and a dull complexion.
The process of dermaplaning is one of removing dead skin cells. This
minimises old skin scars from acne or sun damage, smoothing your
skin, removing fine hairs, reducing the visibility of large pores or skin
pigment variation, releasing clogged pores and encouraging your skin to
produce new skin cells and collagen for a more youthful appearance.
The results are immediate and there is very little down time. Unlike

Tattoo Removal Course

This two day course will teach you how to remove and/or lighten pig-
ment from the skin for semi permanent makeup, inappropriate hairlines,
saturated scalps and unwanted body tattoos in a similar manner as the
