Snow Shoveling

NOVEMBER 16, 2022 COMCAST CABLE AND INTERNET - FAQS The LBCHA Board of Directors renewed the bulk cable contract with Comcast with an addition of internet service beginning in 2023. Below are frequently asked questions related to these services. 1. What is included in the bulk cable package? a. The bulk cable package includes Popular TV with over 125 channels. The service includes 1 HD Digital Converter and 2 HD Digital Adapters. For a complete listing of channels please select this link: https://www.xfinity.com/learn/channel-lineup 2. What is included in the bulk internet package? a. The bulk internet package includes Connect More at 200/10 Mbps. This package also includes the gateway / modem. 3. What is the cost of the bulk cable and internet package? a. The cost is $62.05/ unit per month. If you were to purchase these services individually, the retail cost is $226. 4. I have internet with Comcast now, do I have to call to change my bill? a. No. Comcast will automatically make a change in their system so you won’t receive a bill for 200 Mbps or lower internet service. If you currently have a higher speed internet, you will be charged $10 / tier speed higher. 5. I don’t want internet and I don’t watch cable tv, can I opt out? a. No. This is an assessment which is required to be paid by all owners. 6. We have had bulk cable for a long time, why is the fee now separate? a. Currently cable is included in the total assessment amount billed to you each month. The cost is divided by percentage of ownership and not a flat rate. The Condo Act allows for associations to charge both Cable and Internet as flat rates instead of percentage of ownership. 7. I don’t live here a portion of the year, can I put my cable and internet on vacation hold? a. No. The association is able to keep a low bulk rate on the premise that the fee and services are the same each month for all units. However, if you have upgraded services (i.e. HBO or higher speed internet) you can put the upgraded services on hold. 8. What modem is being provided through the bulk contract? Can I upgrade my older Comcast modem for this new one? a. Included in your plan is the Connect More speed, 200/10. The modem used for this speed is model XB3. If you don’t already have this modem, you can switch to it at no additional cost. Specification can be found at this link: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/broadband-gateways-userguides 9. I have a double or triple play discount now. Will it continue? a. No. The discount received is through the lower cost bulk rate. 10. If I have questions for Comcast or want to upgrade my service, who should I call? a. Call Comcast at 855-510-1609. Also, Comcast will be onsite at the end of January and beginning of February to answer questions and confirm billing changes were made correctly. Please watch for details on this. 11. I don’t have internet now, how will I get it through Comcast? a. Comcast will have installation dates in December which will be by Condo. Watch for details on this as dates are solidified. If you can’t make the posted schedule, you can reschedule directly with Comcast without a fee for up to 6 months. After 6 months, you would need to either install the modem yourself or pay an installation fee to Comcast.

Our next 'First Tuesday Open Jam' is Tuesday,
Dec 6th at 6:30pm, right here in the Lodge
Ballroom. As you know, the LBS Music Club
meets to play live music, the first Tuesday of
each month at 6:30pm in the Lodge Ballroom.
All of our events are open to all residents and
their guests to play, or to attend as a grateful
listener. Audience participation is always
welcome.
