The Council’s ethos is to provide good quality, well-designed, energy
efficient homes which should result in lower running costs for our tenants
and provide a pleasant place to live. The following are some examples of

Rochestown House – as part of a wider project, this energy upgrade of existing social housing for the

Silver Certificate from the Irish Green Building Council. With near Zero Energy Buildings ‘nZEB’ due
to become mandatory for all housing stock in the near future, these A1 homes demonstrate how this
can be achieved cost effectively, on a tight site through rapid build methods. George’s Place was
shortlisted for SEAI Energy Awards.
The Mews – the Mews in Sallynoggin, delivered in December 2017, was recognised as Best
Sustainable Project in 2018. This project is A1 Building Energy Rated social housing and is in

                                                         the relationships and emotions of an often-forgotten
