TRENDS
Are you ready? It’s that time of year when we take
stock, analyze, and recap the trends that made it
into our homes, hearts and sometimes just the
stores. As a trends lover, sometimes predictor but
mostly sythesizer here is my view of our design world
we work in, live in and see everyday.

multiple patterns, crowded interiors, abundance of accessories like

The She Tribe trend is about the power of women. In the age of
#bossbabe and #metoo thee new feminism has reached our homes in
every way. It includes the use of feminine colors, florals and face art.

        TRADITIONALIST
This trend has been on the horizon for the past year but has been gaining popularity
to now include multiple historical periods from English Country and neoclassicism, to
arts and crafts and more. You will find matched sets of furniture, multiple patterns
and heavy use of accessories. A new take has changed how we use our rooms and
what we expect from them with the living room and parlor now back in style.

Escapism is about creating spaces where we can escape from modern day
life away from technology. This trend creates environments that are fully
encompassing and reminiscent of another day or time. The styling tends to
be literal and includes the popular boho movement.

                                                                                       16

Unlike happiness which is measured over time, joy is an

               FARMHOUSE
The new modern farmhouse has elevated up to a luxer, more refined space. Still a
huge trend, this style has moved from barn & cottage to tudor and shiplap only to
wider, cleaner millwork. If you’re looking to add a sense of warmth, personality and
character with a hint of minimalism, here are great trends to add a touch of
farmhouse interior design with a modern approach.

Grounded is a trend about earthy pleasures - warm colors, natural materials,
everyday comfort and layering. Monochromatic palettes blend the mix of
metals, textures and materials to create an inviting environment.

                                                                                       26

Marked by minimalism and functionality, this trend has been influential for
the last few years. Originally called hygge, it is marked by comfort, warm &
light woods and black & white. It is clean but cozy.

                                                                                     28
