Explore the towering mountains, turquoise-blue lakes, gleaming glaciers and enchanted forests of
the Canadian Rockies. This magnificent trek takes place in some of the most spectacular national
parks in the Canadian Rockies, including Banff as well as offering you the opportunity to see the
grizzly bear in its natural habitat. Join us for a challenge you’ll never forget and help raise vital funds
for the USPCA.

Day 1 24 June West Jet Direct Flight Dublin – Calgary 13:45 pm – 15:05 pm

 1 hour Bus to Canmore and Overnight stay in Alpine Club Hostel

Day 2 25 June Orientation & Introductory hike in Kananaskis Country

Day 3: 26 June Hike at Rockbound Lake. Overnight Johnston Canyon Campsite, Banff

Day 4: 27 June Challenging hike to Cory Pass. Overnight Johnston Canyon Campsite, Banff

Day 5: 28 June Hike at Stanley Glacier. Overnight Lake Louise Campsite

Day 6: 29 June Hike High Line Trail at Lake Louise. Overnight Lake Louise

Day 7: 30 June Hike Day (additional day)

Day 8: 1 July Finale Challenge - Hike Sentinel Pass and Valley of 10 Peaks.
 Celebration Meal & Overnight in Banff

Day 9: 2 July Free Day in Banff & travel to Calgary

Day 10: 3 July Free Day in Calgary

WHATS INVOLVED?
Registration
To register your intent to participate you must complete the following;

  registration form
  medical form
  registration fee of £395 (nonrefundable) (Can be paid in installments)

Please ensure you complete all the forms in BLOCK CAPITALS and fill in your details as it
appears on your passport, as tickets need to match your passport.

Fundraising
Fundraising is often the most daunting part of a challenge, especially if you haven’t done much
fundraising in the past or you are uncomfortable asking for support! Remember you are raising
money to support vital USPCA services and we will support you however we can to help you reach
your target.

The minimum fundraising amount is £3,350. By registering to participate you are agreeing
to raise this amount.

Planning is the more crucial part of any successful fundraising event. 80% of funds
must be with the USPCA by the 31st March 2019 with the balance lodged with the
charity before the trip takes place. We will provide you with ideas and suggestions
for fundraising. There will be fundraising sessions scheduled and additional one to
one support throughout the year.

Funds can be paid to the USPCA in stages in the following ways;

Online fundraising
By collecting money through a JustGiving, My Donate or Go Fund me page the money will
be sent to us automatically. We would request that you send us an email and notify us on
the balance on your fundraising page.

By telephone
Call 02830251000 to transfer funds in this way.

Bank Transfer
Send a bank transfer to:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Accommodation
All accommodation is provided and will vary from basic hotels and camping.

Food & Drinks
Local staff will provide you with three meals a day (unless otherwise stated) which will
include breakfast, pack lunches and camp dinners. We can cater for vegetarians and other
dietary requirements. You will be advised in advance if water needs to be treated.

Insurance
You will be required to get suitable travel insurance to cover you for trekking.

KIT
You must have relevant kit including suitable footwear and clothing (We will provide you
with a full list).

Medical
You must complete the medical form correctly and inform us of any changes that occur
between doing this and the departure. Failure to do this could invalidate your insurance. A
doctor will travel with the group throughout the trek.

Passport
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the date of RETURN.

Spending Money
It is recommended you bring approx £300 worth of personal money to allow for souvenirs,
additional drinks etc.

Training
This is a challenge and you will need to train to participate fully. We will provide you with a
sample training schedule and the group will be encouraged to join training walks here before
we depart.
Travel
All travel is provided departing from and returning to the USPCA offices including
International flights and all trek related in-country transport.
We can make arrangements for those who wish to extend their trip but please enquire at
time of registration.Airline taxes are to be paid by the participant prior to departure.

Visa
Most British and Irish passport holders will not require a visa to travel for tourism for a
short period, however, you will be required to get an Electronic Travel Authorisation. The
cost is currently $7 CAD and you can apply online.

Vaccinations
There are some suggested vaccines for travel in rural areas in Canada. Please visit your own
healthcare provider for your personal needs.

Weather
The coldest weather will have past and daytime temperatures for June average around 19C.
