LOS ANGELES DODGERS FOUNDATION
Established in 1995, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) is the official team charity
of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Harnessing the power of the Dodger brand and a passionate fan
base, LADF works to significantly impact underserved youth in some of the most challenged
neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Its primary focus is to support cornerstone programs in
Sports + Recreation, Education + Literacy, and Health + Wellness benefitting children and
families in need throughout the greater Los Angeles region. The Los Angeles Dodgers
Foundation recently announced cumulative grant donations of over $1.5 million in 2017 to
66 local nonprofit organizations, which impacted one million underserved youth in LA!
Urban Compass has partnered with LADF to support our after-school programming and our
“Roundin’ the Bases for Reading” and “Attendance All-Stars” initiatives. LADF has always treated Urban Compass kids as
MVPs through participation in a variety of special events such as the LA Dodgers Christmas Party with Joc Pederson,
Andre Ethier’s “Dre Dayz” Suite Experience, several Dodger Games, Dodgers RBI program, LA Reads Launch Event with
players Andre Ethier, Yasmani Grandal, and Rich Hill, and a special Watts school-based event with Curtis Granderson and
special Dodger pre-game field recognition!
URBAN COMPASS GUILD
Although their support dates back to 2004 when our programs first began, the Urban
Compass Guild was officially founded in 2012 as a formal volunteer organization committed
to supporting Urban Compass programs and families. The group consists of hard-working
and dedicated individuals who contribute to the organization through volunteerism, field
trip opportunities, and resource support all year long. The signature event hosted by the
Guild is an Annual Holiday Party for Urban Compass families. Initially conceived as a small
holiday celebration, the Annual Holiday Party, held in December, provides an amazing day
for families to truly share in the spirit of the season! The Guild works tirelessly throughout
the year to secure donations for a holiday food drive and sponsors for an Adopt-a-Family
gift program, which provides much-needed items for all household members. Members are fully invested in the future
of Urban Compass kids and have involved their families, friends, and neighbors through their tireless advocacy efforts!Event Sponsorship Levels Print deadline= 3/9/2018 (All sponsorships secured by this date will be included in our final printed invitation/event materials) ♦ Big Kahuna - $10,000 • Two VIP Tables for 10 guests each (20 guests total) • Verbal recognition at event • Full-page acknowledgement- Sponsor Name and Logo included in all event projections/printed materials, website, and social media, whenever possible • Opportunity to include company product/branded item in guest swag bag • 20 Raffle Tickets ♦ Surfin’ Safari - $5,000 • One VIP Table for 10 guests • Half-page acknowledgement- Sponsor Name and Logo included in all event projections/printed materials, website, and social media, whenever possible • Opportunity to include company product/branded item in guest swag bag • 20 Raffle Tickets ♦ Surf City - $2,500 • Preferred event seating for 5 guests • Quarter-page acknowledgement- Sponsor Name and Logo included in all event projections/printed materials, website, and social media, whenever possible • Opportunity to include company product/branded item in guest swag bag • 10 Raffle Tickets ♦ Surf’s Up - $1,000 • Preferred event seating for 2 guests • Sponsor Name included in all event projections/printed materials, whenever possible Event Page: https://ucgoodvibrations.eventbee.com For more information about the event, sponsorships, underwriting opportunities, or to send your high-resolution logo files, please contact: Xochiltl Bravo, Executive Director, at xrbravo@urbancompass.org or (323) 383-7588
URBAN COMPASS
Guiding Youth Toward a Hopeful Future!
www.urbancompass.org
Established in 2004, Urban Compass was designed to
address the negative outcomes and academic
challenges experienced by children in Watts and South
Los Angeles. The core of Urban Compass’ model is an
after-school academic and social enrichment program
that started by serving children in Kindergarten through
5th grade at 112th Street Elementary School. With the
support of 112th Street, Verbum Dei High School, and
other community partners, Urban Compass has created
a continuum of academic and support services that
keeps children out of gangs and on a path to college,
giving children every opportunity succeed.
Urban Compass operates after-school and enrichment
programs that support children during each of their
crucial elementary years to improve academic
performance, reading proficiency, school attendance,
homework completion, and parent/family engagement
in their child’s academic growth. Urban Compass is now
offered at 2 elementary schools, 112th Street in Watts
and St. Thomas the Apostle in Pico-Union, with partner
high schools, Verbum Dei High School, Loyola High
School, and Bishop-Conaty High School.
