About the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron
The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron is one of Australia's premier yacht clubs. The club has a proud history of
involvement in sailing since its formation in 1862 including Americas Cups, Sydney to Hobart
races, Admirals Cups, Kenwood Cups, the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and numerous State, National and
World Championships across a plethora of classes. Over the years, numerous Squadron Members have
been world champions and Olympians and have achieved other significant yachting accomplishments.
Located within walking distance of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Squadron boasts spectacular views of
Sydney Harbour. The Opera House, CBD and many tourist attractions are also within minutes of the Club.
The RSYS has approximately 3,000 Members and an extensive racing program which includes Twilight series
on Tuesdays (Ladies), Thursdays (One Design) and Fridays (One Design and Mixed Division) as well as
Saturday Club racing, Combined Clubs, Offshore Series, various Regattas and an active Youth Sailing
Program.

Regatta Office
The Regatta Office is in the Milson Room in the main Clubhouse, Level 4, (past Reception, turn left along
the corridor, 1st room on left. Access is also available from the Upper Lawn.)
For any enquiries in relation to the conduct of the regatta or the competition equipment, please direct
them towards the Regatta Office during the event or info@nswtsa.com.
Regatta Information & Results
Race Information and Results will be posted on the official regatta website at

Safe Boating Information
All boats must comply with all NSW Waterways regulations.
All boats shall not interfere with the Commercial or Defence shipping of the Port. The attention of skippers
is drawn to NSW Maritime Authority regulations regarding the right of way of vessels entering or leaving
port, and vessels engaged in towing. NSW Maritime regulations specify “priority over sail”, some
commercial ferries on Sydney Harbour display an orange diamond shape which grants priority of way over
sailing vessels. Do not attempt to cross the path of an approaching ferry displaying this signal.

Car parking
We regret there is only limited parking available in the RSYS car park. Car park access is strictly RSYS
Members only. Please utilise street parking or find alternate means of transport to and from the Club.
The Kirribilli Ferry Wharf and the Milsons Point Train Station are both within a 5-10 minute walk of the
Club.
Signing in on arrival
Competitors in the NSW Secondary Schools Teams Racing Championships are deemed to be Temporary
Members of the RSYS for the period of the regatta. Any parents and support personnel must be signed in
as a guest of a Member of the RSYS. All visitors to the Club must also register daily using the RSYS Services
NSW Covid QR Code. QR Codes for both registrations can be found at all entry/exit points, the Regatta
Office and the Sailing Office. We will have member ambassadors to assist with registration on all days.
Please comply with all COVIDSafe requirements current at the time of the regatta.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the club.
Mobile Phones
Please be aware that the use of mobile phones is prohibited in the Squadron clubhouse.
Change Rooms and Showers
Both the men's and women's change room facilities are located downstairs from the CCA, just above the
Waterfront Office. These facilities have hot showers, toilets, lockers and a changing area. Individuals are
urged to use the lockers in the change rooms for the storage of any personal items. Please be advised that
you need to provide your own padlock and key.
Toilets
The men's toilets are located near the rear entrance to the clubhouse, near the Members Bar. Alternatively,
there are toilets in the change room, which are located downstairs from the CCA, just above the Waterfront
Office. The women's toilets are located past Reception, to the left of the Members Bar. Alternatively, there
are toilets in the change room, as noted above. – Do we want to include this ? Reference to change rooms
enough. We might want to consider signage to direct to change rooms.
Valuables
Competitors are discouraged from bringing valuables to the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. If necessary,
teams are asked to use the lockers located in the change rooms. Please bring your own padlock and key.
The RSYS will not assume any responsibility for the loss, theft or damage of personal possessions.
Lost Property
Lost property cupboards are located under the washbasins in the male and female change rooms. All lost
property will be tagged with the date it is found and if unclaimed within one month, will be donated to
charity. All valuable items will be held at Reception.
Smoking
All areas of the clubhouse are smoke-free zones. Staff will not provide ashtrays. Receptacles for
extinguishing cigarette butts are located at all entrances to the clubhouse.
Alcohol Consumption
Staff will not sell or supply alcohol to a person who appears to be under the age of 18 years, nor allow that
person to consume alcohol upon the RSYS premises. Staff will not serve alcohol to any person who appears
to be intoxicated or affected by drugs or alcohol. The RSYS encourages the responsible consumption of
alcohol in moderation. Intoxicated, indecent or aggressive persons will be escorted from the premises.
RSYS Bar Facilities
The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron has two bars within the clubhouse. The Members Bar is located adjacent
to the Carabella Room on Level 4. The CCA Bar is located downstairs from the Members Bar with the
adjoining terrace to sit and enjoy a drink and the magnificent harbour view.

Public Transport Information
The Kirribilli / Milsons Point area is extremely well serviced by a variety of public transportation, including
ferries, trains, buses and taxis/cabs. Should you have any public transport enquiries, call the State Transit
Authority Information Service on 131 500 or visit https://transportnsw.info/trip#/trip.
Ferries
The Neutral Bay Ferry Service operates from the Kirribilli Wharf (one block from the RSYS) and runs
between Circular Quay, Kirribilli, Neutral Bay, returning to Circular Quay
Trains
The North Shore train service operates from the Milsons Point Train Station (within walking distance of the
RSYS) and runs between the City Circle and the North Shore.
Buses
A variety of bus services operate from the Milsons Point / Kirribilli precinct.
