Mazel Tov to Fran Itkoff on being this year's "Woman of Vision" for Congregation
Shir Chadash. Fran & Phil Itkoff’s family moved to Lakewood in 1963, which soon
included their son, Michael and daughter, Ellen. They were happy to be so close to a
Temple, then known as Temple Beth Zion-Sinai. Both children attended Sunday
School the family continued to be active in all Temple activities. Fran continued to
be involved at Temple even after Phil was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and had
to retire from his Optometric practice. They both helped with activities such as Pu-
rim carnivals, Hanukkah celebrations, New Year & Yom Kippur services, student ac-
tivities and more. After Phil passed away, Fran continued to be active in many of
these activities. She has continued to keep the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group go-
ing monthly and has stayed active in the Lakewood Women’s Club. She is currently
the Secretary for Shir Chadash’s Board of Directors and always willing and able to
help with any Temple activities when needed and is a friendly greeter at all times.

Samantha Hamilton, daughter of Robert and Elle hamil-
ton, and Grandaughter of Fran Itkoff, made Sectional
times in 5 events at the Elite Swim Meet. She got 8 med-
als and 9 best times. She swims for Goldenwest Swim
Club. She will also be competing for a second year in the
JCC Maccabi Games, this year in San Diego. She also will
be playing Greta Thunberg in a new Feature Film. She
made the Gold Honor role at Rogers Middle School, and
has a straight A 4.0 average for all middle school years.
She was just accepted into her 1st choice program (Arts)
at Wilson High School! Samantha is also excited to be
joining the Sea Cadets. Way to rock Sammie! (right: pic-
ture of Sammie with her 8 medals and Head Coach Tracy)
Sammie has also joined the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets in Seal

We recall with affection those who no longer walk this earth, grateful to G-d for the gift of their lives, for their
