A little bit about MAC
MAC System of Airports
MAC owns and operates seven airports in the Metropolitan Area.
Each has its own role and fleet mix.
• MAC created by the Legislature in 1943 • We are an Airport Authority that owns and operates seven airports • 15 Member Policy Board • 600-person staff • MSP operates much like a city, with its own: o Police o Fire o 9-1-1 dispatch o Building inspection o Planning o Maintenance Department

MSP – 16th Busiest Commercial Airport in the Nation In 2018, MSP had a Record No. of Passengers = 38,037,381. Airlines offered non-stop service to nearly 170 destinations. In total, there were 407,476 aircraft operations (2.1% fewer than 2017).

In January, Sun Country announced a new round of expansion, to
eight large cities.
With the addition of these eight
cities, Sun Country Airlines will
serve 49 destinations from MSP
International Airport in 2019.• Three-times daily service to Boston on

Major Projects and Improvements
MSP is likely to serve more than 50 million passengers annually by 2035. To meet demand, the MAC is investing more than $1.6 billion in airport improvements over the next several years – and $2.5 billion by 2035.
