Accelerator focus areas: Detail
Topic cluster Challenge

Data collection & There is a lack of accurate data regarding health facility capacity and the
micro planning demographics of their corresponding catchment populations, because of poor
and infrequent data collection leading to inefficient product stock and health
                          service provision planning

Logistics & supply There is a risk of COVID-19 vaccines going to waste because of patients not
showing for appointments or poor storage, which reduces the overall efficiency of
the vaccine campaign and the number of patients vaccinated

Health worker readiness There is a slow uptake/demand for use of digital tools because of the many
existing digital and paper tools needed to manage vaccine campaigns. Healthcare
workers are not able to efficiently collect/input data or quickly make decisions
