Himos Safaris
BUSINESS STORY
McAhon Safaris has taken guests out on dogsled-
ding safaris at Arvaja, Jämsä since 2009. The husky
farm has a total of 45 Siberian huskies, 35 of which
serve as safari dogs. The husky breed is character-
ised by a burning desire to run - there’s no need to
coerce them. The host Timo Mäkiaho describes the
dogs’ passion for pulling sleds with a grin: "Well,
you can’t push a rope".

BUSINESS STORY
Trail running first came to Finland around ten years ago.
Since that time, the sport has become an extremely popu-
lar form of experiential fitness. The Himos Trail trail run
has been held since 2017.
“We had 400 participants the first year, but last year
there were 1,300 runners here”, explains event director
Juha Taini.
Himos Trail emphasises experiences in developing the
