8HOUSING through EDUCATION is a series of workshops, training, programs and activities
That was created in partnership by YCHomes and First Nation Educators. Leaders and
Housing Experts. YCHomes is a community partner, who delivers the education in the nation
HOUSING through EDUCATION contains two themes of learning: COMMUNITY HOME
MAINTENANCE Workshops and JOURNEY to APPRENTICESHIP Programs. The workshops are
for your youth, generally grade 1 to 12, community members and can even be used as training for
new housing staff. Serving a large percentage of people at a community level in Chief and Council,
housing staff, educators and elders. We appreciate that so many people have embraced and assisted
us in creating HOUSING through EDUCATION and its content and we are honored that you see our
vision too. The youth are your future contractors and leaders and we love to inspire them.
Our programs can take you on your Journey to apprenticeship.

solutions to Canadian homeowners, builders, dealers and contractors. Combine high quality product lines with a
great warranty program and you’ve got a company that’s equipped to meet customer needs.

Windows Glass and close to 800 dealers across the country.
Diversity Makes us Better
For Canada’s 150th birthday, All Weather Windows wanted to do something big to show how much our home
means to us. The Window to Canada was a passion project born out of the diversity, inclusion and pride our
employees bring to work with them every day. We truly believe that no matter your background and lifestyle,
Canada is home to everyone who chooses it.
The Window to Canada appeared at events across the country, with people from every walk of life stopping by to
take a look. This project represented not only Canada’s rich history and heritage, but also its cultural and regional
diversity. We are proud to live and work in this great nation, and can’t wait to see what the next 150 years will bring.

16Net Zero
Energy Homes
If a home nas an annual net carbon emission of zero or better, it’s a Net Zero
Home. In order to produce negative carbon emissions, a home has to be
providing electrical grids with more renewable energy than they consume. The
home needs to be equipped with Net Zero technologies in order to achieve
this. For example, solar panels, turbines, or other renewable systems.
17Passive House
Technology
Passive House is a combination of standards and specific upgrades in certain building materials that
achieve that standard. We use Passive House technologies to replicate the Passive House specifications,
but do not participate in the certification by the Passive House Institute. Passive House Standards do not
include net-zero energy consumption. Instead, this system focuses on reducing energy usage primarily
in insulation and more.

32KEEPING YOU PROTECTED
The Saskatchewan New Home Warranty Program Inc. (“Saskatchewan New Home Warranty” or “the
Program”) was formed in May 1976 by the Building industry, to provide a comprehensive package of
warranty products and promote higher standards of performance in homebuilding within Saskatchewan.
It is one of Canada’s pioneer New Home Warranty Programs and is a Member of the Canadian Home
Warranty Council. As the originating New Home Warranty Program in Saskatchewan, the Program is
positioned as Saskatchewan’s most experienced and trusted provider.
The Program is incorporated as a private Member based Non-Profit Corporation and is headquartered
in Saskatoon with a Branch Office in Regina. Saskatchewan New Home Warranty is governed by a
Policy Board of Directors. Operations of the Program are paid through Membership fees and a fee
charged to register each home.
Saskatchewan New Home Warranty provides a third-party guara
ntee of a Builder Member’s warranty obligations and undertakes to backstop those obligations should
the Builder Member be unable to fulfill those obligations. Builder Members register all eligible homes
with the Program.
Membership in the Program is voluntary, although, most Canadian financial institutions require 3rd party
Home Warranty Coverage in order to qualify for a mortgage on a new home.

33THE COVERAGE YOU NEED.
THE PARTNER YOU TRUST.
The Alberta New Home Warranty Program (“the Program”) is Alberta’s most experienced, most trusted new
home warranty provider.
For more than 40 years, the Program has been relentlessly focused on improving homebuilder
performance, professionalism, responsibility and accountability – the cornerstones of every successful
relationship between homebuilders and their customers.
The Program introduced Canada to the concept and importance of new home warranty back in 1974.
Since then, the Program has provided warranty for more than half a million Alberta homes…and peace of
mind for more than half a million Alberta homeowners.
Today we are Alberta’s largest home warranty provider, serving approximately 700 Builder Members who
meet our stringent standards of membership, including
• A solid financial foundation
• A history of honoring promises
• A proven track record of success
As part of our constant commitment to increasing the standards of homebuilding, the Program recently
launched a complete suite of Homebuilder Insurance products – from Builder’s Risk and Business Liability
Insurance to Commercial Property and Auto Insurance. This means Builder Members can now get all the
coverages they require from the one provider that’s been looking out for the homebuilding industry’s best
interests for more than four decades.
Our Vision
We are a member-based provider of a broad range of Home Warranty and Insurance products and
