Dear Young Middle Magnet Families,

I am so excited to welcome everyone back to the 2021-2022 school year. We are super excited to have
all our students in the building, filling it with excitement, joy, and significant learning. Our vision is to
prepare our students to become global citizens through an innovative STEM approach to learning. We
strive daily to become a premier STEM Academy where STEM is integrated in all that we do and
present to our students. As global citizens we expect our students to embody the tenants of global
citizenship which are: diversity, equity, empathy, justice, advocacy, belonging, collectivism, peace,
and abundance. By paying attention to these tenants and encouraging academic excellence, we will
prepare our students to compete on the local, national, and global stage in middle school and beyond.
Our educators are committed to using the best practices in education to provide an enriching, exciting
hands-on experience for all learners.

Throughout the year, please visit our website. We provide valuable and updated information for your
review. All emails and Parentlink messages sent will also be posted to our website. Likewise, our
Twitter feed contains announcements and short blurbs about what’s going on in our school. Stay up
to date by staying connected! We have so many wonderful things to share with you.

I am overjoyed to serve you as the principal of Young Middle Magnet Creative Science Center. It is my
greatest honor to be a small part of preparing our youngsters for life.

Our Open House will be on August 5th from 5pm-7pm. Seventh and Eighth grade open house will
start at 5pm and end at 6pm. Sixth graders will start at 6:00 pm and end at 7:00 pm. Students will
