time where you experience a small taste of the incredible grace of God.
Trinity is a church committed to open hearts, open minds and open
doors. We believe there is a place for everyone in God’s family.
Children are always welcome in worship and activity bags are available.
For your convenience, a nursery is provided for young children. Ask an
usher for hearing assisted devices.

Christian Education Announcements…
Beginning in September: — Can you help?
The Backpack Connection: After school for 1st – 5th graders:
Thursday afternoons beginning in September • Trinity provides an
afterschool ministry for 1st – 5th grade students. So many ways to
share God’s love! Food ministry, providing activities, being a guide,
bible storyteller and more. Seven people are needed to be guides each
week, other ministry positions are once a month.
Children’s Christmas Pageant Planning Team begins: Would you be
part of a team of seven that will dream about the Christmas Pageant for
2021? Help prepare the way for our children to share the good news of
the birth of Jesus? Toward the end of August a team will begin looking
at a script and staff to meet with the children in late October and
November. It is an exciting time for the students and families.
Contact Tammy Dees in the church office or an Education
Committee member for more information about each of these
ministries.
Adult Small Group Sign-Up Available:
Began last week in Room1 at 10am. Jennifer Sturges is leading a
group in studying the book, “The Walk,” by Adam Hamilton, senior
minister of The Church of the Resurrection in Kansas City. The study
focuses on spiritual practices from Jesus’ own walk with God. DVD and
discussion. No sign up for this class – just come. Everyone welcome!
Apprentice: Sunday mornings. Begins September 18th. 9:15-10:45am.
Led by Scott and Vicki Price. "We all have ideas that we tell ourselves
about God and how he works in our lives. Some are true--but many are
false.” James Bryan Smith believes those thoughts determine not only
who we are, but how we live. Apprentice is a two year study that meets
from September – May of each year. Cost: Book approximately $15.
THE VERY GOOD GOSPEL, How Everything Wrong Can Be Made
Right • A 9-week Book Study, Begins September 7th, Tuesday
evenings 7:00-8:00pm. Hosted by Susan Burchill. Cost: $13.29 Book,
Kindle $8.99, **Audio book $15.30. Shalom is what our souls long for.
Shalom is the “very good” in the gospel. What can we do to build
shalom? Through careful exploration of the bible, we are shown what
“very good” can look like today. **Susan highly recommends the audio
book.
David: Seeking a Heart like his (Updated Edition): A Beth Moore
study. September 15 – November 17. Wednesdays, 9:30 – 11:00am. led
by Pam Evans. Cost: On Amazon - $15 + shipping. Participants are
asked to order their own book. Look for the Updated Edition. If that is
a difficulty contact Tammy Dees for assistance. God will never give up
on you. Explore how David's life proves this promise to be true in this
updated edition. David will delight and disappoint you. You'll want to
be just like him at times and nothing like him at others. If you've ever
experienced doubts, temptations, losses, family problems, or personal
inconsistencies, this study is for you! *Sign Up Available outside both
worship areas.

STARTING AUGUST 18th
Youth Group is Back! Youth group is open to all
incoming 6th-12th graders. We meet on Wednesday nights from
6-8pm for small groups, dinner, and activities beginning on August
18th.
Youth Group Meals: The 2021-22school year is almost
here. Trinity Youth Group will be starting youth group in person
on August 18th . We are looking for volunteers to sign up and
serve a meal to approximately 30 youth and sponsors on
Wednesday nights in the family life center. A meal train has been
created with the dates through Christmas that you can volunteer
for. Here is the link to sign up. You will receive an email reminder
the week before your date and the day before your date. SIGN UP

Youth Mentors Needed: We are still looking for a
couple to serve as small group leaders for the incoming 6th
graders. The couple will follow the group through their Middle and
High School years, forming relationships with the youth during
small group time on Wednesday evenings and connecting with
them outside of church through prayer and attending their
activities.

Youth T-Shirts: Everyone is welcome to order a youth
group t-shirt! If you would like to purchase a youth shirt, we are
taking orders from August 15-August 31. We will tie dye the shirts
on September 15 and then have them sent to be printed. Families
are asked to pay $15/shirt, please contact Carly if you need to
make other arrangements. Checks can be
made out to Trinity UMC with “youth
shirts” in the memo.

Volunteer Ministry Opportunities
Volunteer Coordinator: We are looking for an organized individual who
would love to coordinate all of our volunteer opportunities. Please contact

which of the (3) services you would be willing to greet. Thank you.
Ushers: Volunteers are needed for Ushers at all (3) services starting
September 12th. You would be volunteering to Usher at a service for a
month (either 4 or 5 Sundays). Depending on the number of volunteers
that sign up, you would be ushering 2-3 times per year. If you are
interested in this ministry opportunity, please call or text Bill Sturges at
785-826-5656. Be sure to let me know which service you would prefer to
usher.
Answering Phones during Staff Meetings: If you would be willing to
answer phones from 9-10am on Tuesdays please contact Marilla @
marilla@triumc.org.
Funeral Volunteer: Coordinate and help with funeral meals and other
needs.
