Who are the Sons of the Pioneers and how can they call themselves “legends of Western music”? The Performance begins at 7:30pm.
short answer is that the Sons of the Pioneers singularly built a new genre and library of music that
is an American original - one that has become synonymous with the American West and continues
to enthrall generations of listeners worldwide.
Since the early days of the film industry, the cowboy has been a favorite movie subject. When
musical segments were added to broaden a movie’s interest, the “singing cowboy” was born and
it created megastardom for people like Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Tex Ritter, and Rex Allen. Enter
the Sons of the Pioneers in 1934. They have accumulated more honors and awards than any
other group or performer in Western music, including coveted awards from the Country Music
Association and Academy of Country Music, just to name a couple. Today the Sons of the Pioneers
are still mesmerizing long-time fans and creating new ones. They continue to play to sell-out crowds
and standing ovations.

Camarada is dedicated to presenting invig-
orating performances of musical masterworks.
Established in 1994, Camarada concerts share
the joy of chamber music by pairing performers
of the highest caliber with intimate and intriguing
spaces. With a vast international repertoire,
Camarada has carved out a unique niche crafting
programs that charm and intrigue! San Diego’s
venerable chamber music organization now
offers its elegant, innovative programs for
touring engagements!
Camarada performs concerts of mixed instru-
mentation from their core group of flute, strings,
and keyboard. A few program titles are “Meet
the Americans,” “From Classical to Tango,”

Stretching boundaries of form, length, harmony, and perceived emotional content, Beethoven’s
Symphony No. 3 (1803/1804) is considered an important landmark in the transition between the
Classical period and Romantic era. Beethoven originally dedicated it to Napoleon Bonaparte, who
he believed embodied the democratic ideals of the French Revolution… he withdrew the dedication.

The Green Valley Stage Band has been delighting audiences throughout southern Arizona since
1990. This 20-piece band of musicians offers an eclectic blend of jazz standards from the big band
HOT CLUB OF SAN FRANCISCO era, as well as jazz interpretations of modern tunes. Original arrangements and compositions by
band director Jim Parcel, pianist Carl Tootle, and band bassist Dave Rudloff add a unique flavor to

performing all over the United States, will provide a program of exciting big band arrangements.
