Who we are Friendship Circle of Atlanta, a non-profit Jewish organization, provides individuals with special needs the support, friendship, and inclusion that they deserve. Based on the bedrock foundation of Judaism - V’ohavta L’rayacha Kamocha- to love your fellow as yourself, Friendship Circle brings together individuals of all ages, with and without special needs, for a variety of Judaic and social programming. Inspired by the magic of true friendship and selfless giving, our members cultivate acceptance and responsibility, developing a more inclusive Jewish community for all. Friends@Home START DATE: AUGUST 20th Friends@Home pairs teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship through weekly home visits. The visits facilitate friendship and socialization that is often a significant challenge for children living with disabilities. Being at home allows our special friends to bond with their volunteers in an environment they are most comfortable in, while their parents and siblings receive much- needed respite. The volunteers are specially educated in inclusion and in the interests and challenges of their particular special friend. The same volunteers go every week so that true connections form and genuine friendships blossom. These visits can be arranged to accommodate a wide variety of schedules. Please call our office to make arrangements. *This program runs throughout the school year and is FREE Birthday Club At FC’s Birthday Club we celebrate the birthdays of our special friends at fun and exciting places around Atlanta. Volunteers and participants come together to make their special day one they will never forget! At birthday club not only does the celebrant feel special and loved but all those in attendance feel included! *This FREE program takes place once a month on Sundays 3:00-4:30pm.
