CQUNIVERSITY 2019 TERM DATES
CQUniversity Higher Education Academic Terms are normally 15 weeks for Term 1 and Term 2. This
period includes mid-term break and the University’s exam period. Any new students to Student
Residences in Term 1 will have a 16-week term. All new students must attend compulsory orientation
for Student Residences and CQUniversity. Residents can continue to stay on through term breaks and
during non-study terms whilst still enrolled at CQUniversity.
To obtain the prices below a student must enter into a Residency Agreement. For further information
about Residency Agreements please contact studentresidencs@cqu.edu.au.
TERM 1
Orientation – New Residents to College 2 March 2019
Term 1 Check-in Date – Returning Residents 9 March 2019
Last Day of Term 1 21 June 2019*
*Residents can continue to stay on through the term break 22 June 2019 - 12 July 2019.
TERM 2
Term 2 Check-in Date 13 July 2019
Last Day of Term 2 25 October 2019*
*Residents can continue to stay on through the term break 26 October 2019 – 8 November 2019 and for Term 3.
TERM 3
Term 3 Check-in Date 9 November 2019
Last Day of Term 3 21 February 2020*
*Residents can continue to stay on through the term break 22 February 2020 – 8 March 2020.

$20 discount A resident can have a guest stay for a maximum of 2 nights on a discounted rate. Guest of a Resident
per night Normal rates apply for each night after the initial 2 nights.
$50.00 Extended Stay / Late Departure Fee – guests due to depart can request to use the Guests
room until the afternoon instead of checking out by 10.00 am.
$20.00 Late Payment Fee – applied each week or part thereof that instalment payments All Residents
are overdue.
$50.00 Moving Fee or Cleaning Fee per hour – Moving Fee applies when a resident uses All Residents
a room and then requests to move before end of term. Cleaning Fee applies when
a Guest or Resident leaves their room in an unacceptable state.
$1,500 Fire Alarms – false activation (accidentally or on purpose).* All Residents
approx.
Note 1 Fire/emergency equipment – cover, damage or obstruct; CO2 extinguisher All Residents
discharged; Dry chemical extinguisher discharged; Glass of a MCP is broken; Fixed
or Standalone Fire Detector damaged (accidentally or on purpose)
*QLD Fire & Rescue Service will issue an infringement notice which the offender will need to pay.
