Introduction
The 9th Annual Marvel of Flight (MOF) is gearing up for another great year! This two-day
fly-in and aviation expo will take off on March 29-30, 2019. MOF 2019 will feature a
multitude of memorable experiences for the entire family to enjoy. We look forward to
seeing you there!
As the hosting organization for Marvel of Flight, authorized to offer sponsorship
opportunities, the City of DeFuniak Springs would like to welcome you as a potential
contributor to one of the largest general aviation events in Northwest Florida. We invite
you to become our partner in this community wide celebration of aviation at the DeFuniak
Springs Airport.
It is only by the generosity of our sponsors that Marvel of Flight can return each year to
the DeFuniak Springs Airport. The success of this extremely popular aviation event is

Programs
Red Thunder - Formation Flight Demonstration Team
Big smoke, wonderful sounds of big radial engine airplanes, and the thrill of a hometown
fly-in is what you will experience when Red Thunder takes to the skies above DeFuniak
Springs. Spectators will get all this, plus precision formation flight demonstrations, when
the Red Thunder Team invades Marvel of Flight. This unique demonstration team
provides the general public a chance to experience these rare airplanes that only a few
years ago, would have been impossible to see in the United States.
The Red Thunder Team is a
four-ship warbird formation
team, led by a North American
T-28B, with a Chinese CJ-6
aircraft on each wing, and a
Russian Yak-52 flying the
number four or slot position.
These aircraft all have nine
cylinder radial engines with
horsepower ranging from 360hp
to1450hp. The rumbling sounds
and smoke trails with each pass
are real crowd pleasers.
All American Skydive Team
Blue skies eveveryone!! The All
American Skydiving Team is a
group of professional skydivers
that perform all kinds of
exhibition skydives into events
in the southeast US. They
specialize in sports events, air
shows and fly-ins. AAST will
make MOF 2019 extra special
with an exciting set of skydive
performance.
You can't start Marvel of Flight without something spectacular to kick it off, and that's just
what the All American Skydiving Team will provide in 2019. Come see Greg, Joe, and
Craig drop into the airfield with the US flag flying, smoke burning on the way down, and
finish off with a high speed swoop. Later on during the day, the All American Skydive
Team will throw on their wingsuits for an unforgettable and daring demonstration that will
amaze the crowd.

Friends of Army Aviation Legacy Helicopter Ride Program
The Friends of Army Aviation- Wiregrass
Chapter consists of several aircraft,
including a retired military Huey.
Experience history as the flight team
simulates maneuvers that were perfected
during the Vietnam War. The courage,
honor, and bravery of our Vietnam
veterans will proudly be on display as we
celebrate the proud tradition of Army
aviation at Marvel of Flight.
The Friends of Army Aviation are an IRS
501(c) 3, Veterans non-profit Organization
dedicated to preserving the legacy of U.S.
Army Aviation through their museum
located in Ozark, Al and airworthy Vietnam
Era aircraft.
The FAA - Wiregrass Chapter is dedicated to presenting the Army aviation story to the
American people. The FAA’s Mission, narrated through patriotic flying presentations and
static displays of the actual aircraft and equipment used by the men and women who
served in Army aviation, is a story you will not soon forget. This is accomplished through
the acquisition, restoration, and maintenance of historic flyable Army aircraft representing
Army aviation from the Vietnam era to present time.
Barnstormer David Mars – Keeping History Alive
David Mars wants to take you for a ride,
up in the air and back in time. If you
have ever wondered what 90 mph winds
feel like while strapped into the front
seat of an open-air cockpit antique
double winged airplane, David Mars is
your man. The self-proclaimed “old
washed up barnstormer” will gladly take
you above the tree line or around Lake
DeFuniak doing lazy eight’s and wing
overs in his red-and-blue 1929 Curtiss-
Wright Travel Air biplane, a ride that can
be best described as an old fashion
roller coaster without tracks.
Mars,
. who lives in Madison, MS, has 15,000+ flight hours and has been selling rides in
vintage aircrafts since the 1970’s. Yet, it is not about the money or simply sharing the
thrill of flying, Mars is on a mission to share his passion for aviation history

Connecting with the Community
A Day at the Airport Field Trip
The Day at the Airport is a fun, fast paced
STEM educational field trip hosted by the
Marvel of Flight guest exhibitors each
year. This field trip would not be possible
without our sponsors, who contribute to
cover the expenses and appearance fees
of our special guests each year.
Who Can Attend?
Fields trips are made available and
organized through the Walton County
School District. Generally, the
educational content and activities are
most suited to students grades 2nd
through 5th.
When is the Field Trip?
The field trip will occur on Friday, March
29, 2019. Time is limited to 2 hour
sessions. Group sizes generally range
between 75-100 students.
What is there to see and do?
Having fun while learning about aviation
and aerospace is the goal for the day.
Students will be greeted by Airport staff
and chaperoned by teachers and high
school student volunteers. After the
initial greeting, students are divided into
small groups for station rotations.

video recording, for any part of the MOF Fly-In & Expo, for any commercial purpose, except with the express
written permission of the MOF Executive Committee. The performers and organizations appearing at the MOF
Fly-In & Expo are protected by federal and state copyright laws and any use for a commercial purpose of a
reproduction of their work made at any aviation event is unauthorized and constitutes a violation of applicable
law. NO REFUNDS. If all or any portion of the Event is cancelled due to inclement weather or for any reason
beyond the control of the MOF Executive Committee, no refunds will be given for sponsorships or vendors
spaces purchased. Any monies so paid or other consideration given may be considered a tax deductible
contribution to the City of DeFuniak Springs, an IRs 501(c) organization. The events schedule and aircraft
participating are subject to change and availability. No refunds will be given due to the failure of any exhibits
