Where possible, cancelled classes/programs will be replaced by classes/programs that have a waiting list. In the case of a program cancellation or change that Clarington is responsible for, a full refund will be issued to all registrants. Please note that only classes cancelled by Clarington will be rescheduled when possible.

Program Refund Policy All requests for refunds must be received in writing. Refund requests for specialty classes (Aquatic Leadership, Summer Session Aquatics Instruction (Monday to Friday), First Aid, CPR, High Five - Principles of Healthy Child Development and Day Camps) and workshops must be received a minimum of three business days prior to the first class. Community Services Department birthday parties are non-refundable. Programs with a value of $11.30 or less (after taxes) are non-refundable. With the exception of specialty classes and workshops, approved refund requests are prorated and are provided if received prior to the second class.

Medical refund requests will be assessed at any point during the session and must include a doctor’s note. Medical refund requests are prorated to the date all completed paperwork is received.

  • Refund Options All approved refunds will be subject to a $10 + HST administrative fee per registration. Credit or refund of $19.99 or less (after the administration fee is deducted).
  • Credit on account - expiry 12 months from the date issued (for original cash, debit or cheque payments)
  • Refund to original debit card (in person) or credit card Refund of $20 or more (after the administration fee is deducted)

  • Refund original debit card (in person) or credit card. Age Prerequisite for Programs Where age is a prerequisite for a program, participants must be the correct age to register. Applicable Taxes All pricing in this guide excludes applicable taxes. Taxes are calculated at the point of sale.
  • Third Child Discount Families with three or more children may benefit from the Third Child Discount (TCD). The TCD provides a 50 per cent discount to the lowest dollar value program on the program registration fee. To take advantage of the TCD:
  • Children must be siblings under 16 years old and living in the same household within Clarington.
  • All three children must be registered in a program during the same session (fall, winter, spring, summer).
  • TCD cannot be combined with other promotions/offers (i.e. Early Bird Camp Discount).
  • TCD does not apply to camp extended care, leadership programs or partnership programs.
  • TCD cannot be processed online. The full payment must be received at time of registration. Contact us for an adjustment to your account. Non-Residents Fee Non-Clarington residents are required to pay an additional 10 per cent non-resident fee on all programs, memberships and facility rentals. Program registration for non-residents typically occurs one week after resident registration dates. 55 + Rates Registration fees for adult recreation programs are reduced 50 per cent for seniors 55 years of age and over. Suitable ID (including proof of age and residency) is needed at the time of registration.

Programs developed specifically for older adults have been priced accordingly. Senior discounts are not available for these programs.

Our goal is to promote and facilitate the inclusion of those with special needs in recreation programs of their choosing. For our purposes,“special needs”includes intellectual or physical disabilities, attention and behavioural difficulties, vision and hearing impairments, learning disabilities, allergies and medical conditions.

A Little Assistance Goes A Long Way If individuals with special needs require assistance to participate in a recreation program or service, a support person will be admitted to the program or activity at no charge. Service Disruption From time to time, services and facilities may be unavailable due to preventative maintenance or equipment failure. Access to Recreation Clarington is committed to increasing access and participation opportunities for residents experiencing financial challenges. Canadian Tire Jumpstart Clarington is a proud partner of the Canadian Tire Foundation for Families in the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program.

This program provides financially disadvantaged children (four to 18 years old) with the opportunity to participate in sports and active recreation activities.
