2020 SUMMER OF RE-CREATION
Here comes summer!
Summer is a perfect time to play and explore—a time when you and your family
can seek out opportunities to be renewed, refreshed and replenished.
With that in mind, we’ve created all kinds of opportunities to help you make the
most of the summer months here at St. Philip the Deacon—everything from field
trips and service opportunities to mission trips and baseball games.
We hope you’ll find ways to allow God to “re-create” you through some of these
events, and pray that your summer months will be filled with opportunities to
nurture and deepen your faith—and have fun while you’re doing it.

This program is for elementary kids to experience the act
and importance of service. Each day will be divided into a

and free play. Then, we will return to church to help wash
toys, sort items, clean candles, sharpen pencils, pack boxes
and generally tidy up around SPD.

We are planning to plant vegetables in some raised
gardens and then the harvest will be donated to Interfaith
Outreach for distribution to their clients. For this to be
successful, we need gardeners! Watch for further details
as spring approaches!
Mississippi Kayak Adventure
Take a tour of the Mississippi River from a unique vantage
point. We will rent kayaks from Twin Cities Kayaking and
have a guide who leads us on a two-hour tour of the river.
Anyone who can paddle a kayak is welcome to join in!
