Spring Semester
JANUARY THROUGH APRILHello and thank you for your interest in Watermark University! The foundation of Watermark University (WU) is to provide meaningful opportunities to learn, teach and grow, resulting in a life of overall well-being. Research shows that learning and keeping our mind active and sharp supports healthy aging. At Watermark Retirement Communities® we are committed to encourage our residents and associates to lead balanced lives, full of meaning and purpose, grounded in self- awareness and infused with curiosity. Our Watermark University courses help achieve this goal. While we continue to social distance and remain healthy, we have found new ways to promote meaning and purpose by utilizing technology and our in-house channel. We are hoping to add more in person classes while following precautions as the year progresses. This catalog is subject to change depending on evolving Watermark Covid Task Force guidelines. Sincerely, Michelle Sayre Community Life Director The Fountains at Lake Pointe Woods

Old Women
An Alaska Legend of Betrayal, Courage and Survival. This is a story based on an Athabascan Indian legend
passed along for many generations from mothers to daughters of the upper Yukon River Valley in Alaska.
This is a suspenseful, shocking, ultimately inspirational tale of two women abandoned by their tribe during
a brutal winter famine. Though these women have been known to complain more than contribute, they
must now either survive on their own or die trying. In this book, the author has created two heroines of

6 + Uses For
Michelle Sayre March 30th • 2:00 PM Tiffany Lounge
Lavender Leaves
Lavender flowers are only around for a short time, but there are plenty of uses for lavender leaves! Learn
how to harvest, dry & use them in DIY projects. First though, you may wonder – what are the health
benefits of lavender leaves? The powerful aroma of the leaves indicates that they doubtless have
overlapping benefits with the flowers, which is why I enjoy including them in salves, balms, soaks, and
other DIY projects. Come and relax with Michelle with the wonderful aroma of lavender and walk away
with a lavender creation of your own.
