1 — Invitation
1.1 Organizing Authority
This event is organized by UWRC Wien, the underwater rugby club team of Vienna, which
participates as a competitor in the Czech-Austrian-Hungarian Underwater Rugby League.
1.2 Time & Place
1.2.1 Location
This tournament takes place on Sunday, the 9th of June 2013, at the indoor pool Sportplatz
Universitätszentrum (UZA) Auf der Schmelz 6, 1150 Vienna. For a description of possible
parking spots please see 1.5.4 Location and Parking.
1.2.2 Time Schedule
Time Table for Sunday, the 9th of June 2013
• 08:00 - Registration at the pool
• 08:30 - Team leader meeting, next to the referee desk at the pool
• 09:00 - Start of the tournament
• 19:00 - Approximated end of competition and announcement of final results at the
poolside
• 20:00 - Possibility of a joint dinner/joint drinks at a nearby restaurant; see below for
further details
Time between matches is calculated with three minutes maximum. Due to the tight sched-
ule, it is necessary for all teams and referees to get ready before the previous match ends. Penal-
ties may apply (see 1.4.4 Referees and Penalties). Details on time-outs, warnings, penalties etc.
will be announced on the match schedule.
1.3 Confirmation and Registration
A written confirmation of attendance has to be sent to office@uwrc.at until Thursday, the
30th of May 2013 at the latest. Please also use this e-mail address for any personal requests or4 Invitation
individual questions.
At the day of the tournament, please hand in your completed entry forms (see last page of this
document) to a staff member at the pool upon your arrival.
1.4 Body of Rules
1.4.1 Starting Fee
According to the competition regulations, the starting fee amounts to 300 EUR for the entire
season of 2013 which had to be paid at the first day of competition in Budapest. Teams wanting
to participate on one competition day are subject to a payment of 120 EUR on the day the
tournament takes place. This rule does not apply to promotion teams "B".
Teams which announce their participation or register after the deadline stated above will be
charged an additional 20 EUR.
1.4.2 Team Composition and Equipment
One team consists of a maximum of 12 players and 3 reserves (see Rule 2.2) equipped with two
series of numbered caps, swimming trunks, two pairs of wristbands in dark-blue and white (see
Rule 2.4) as well as fins, a mask and a snorkel fully compliant with Rule 2.3.
1.4.3 Rules
Official CMAS rules apply to this tournament. Mode and timetable for this tournament depend
on the number of registered teams. The chronological order of the games will be agreed upon
at the team leaders’ conference.
The top 5 to top 6 teams according to the previous positions earned at the second tournament
of the Czech-Austrian-Hungarian Underwater Rugby League in Budweis on the 25th of May
2013 will form the first league, all other teams will play in the second league.
Consuming either alcoholic beverages or any kind of food at the poolside is strictly prohibited.
1.4.4 Referees and Penalties
Every team has to provide at least two referees. If a team fails to provide its referee(s) on time,
it is subject to a penalty fee of 40 EUR. The same penalty applies to teams arriving late to their
own game(s) and thereby causing delays.
A jury, which is in charge of handling any kind of protests and/or pronounce any possible
punishments, will be agreed upon at the team leaders’ conference.
1.4.5 Protests
Protests have to be brought in up until 20 minutes after the match in question by the team captain
at the referee desk along with a cash bail of 20 EUR.
1.4.6 Liability
All competitors participate in this tournament entirely at their own risk. The organizing author-
ity does not accept any claims stemming from personal damages, injuries or death sustained in
connection with, during or after this tournament. The organizing authority disclaims any and
all such liabilities.1.5 Additional Information 5
1.5 Additional Information
1.5.1 Accomodation
No official accommodation is provided by the organizing authority. However, we will gladly
assist you in organizing your trip as well as your possible stay in Vienna. For any questions or
inquiries please contact us personally at office@urwc.at.
1.5.2 Catering
There is no cafeteria in the building. Please also note that, as this tournament takes place on
a Sunday, no grocery shops will be open in Vienna. The only places where you can purchase
food or drinks are either gas or train stations.
1.5.3 Winning Ceremony and Dinner
The winning ceremony, where the final results will be announced and a small surprise will be
handed to the winning teams, is held directly after the last match at the poolside.
However, after the tournament, we welcome you to join us for some drinks and/or food at a
nearby restaurant starting at 20:00. The exact place will be announced on the match day. Please
feel free to register for this event either via e-mail (office@uwrc.at), or on the match day at
the referee desk before 15:00.
