gives them the full meal, not just the appetizer. Rather than focusing on whiz-bang-wow demonstrations, this academically oriented
program targeting STEM education provides a solid foundation in the principles of science. Club members discover the incredible
connections among atoms, molecules, living organisms, and our universe. Through hands-on experiments, discussion, and
presentations, we study chemistry (atoms), physics (energy and matter and how they interact), biology (life study), and astronomy
   (the universe).
Your child will not only gather knowledge but, like Galileo Galilei, will learn to think critically and analyze situations scientifically. For

have an important job to do. When these parts work together as a coherent whole, they make us—wow! We will take an amazing
journey through the human body. First we will learn about the very smallest living unit of our bodies, the cell. Then we will study how
cells become specialized to perform their jobs in whatever part of the body they live in. Next we will meet the organs and watch the
incredible teamwork that goes on between them. The process is sort of like a symphony where each instrument (like each organ of
the body) is just as important as every other; when one does not sound just right, the music (like the human body) falls out of
harmony. The human body is truly a masterpiece! Kids will also learn chemistry and physics by focusing on the chemical reactions
that occur in our bodies to keep us alive. To learn more visit: www.atomscienceclub.com

particles formed. We will ponder how the first particles sprang into existence out of the energy released at the moment of the Big
Bang. How did those first particles become atoms? How is it possible that we are alive on planet earth 13.7 billion years later? Some
understanding of basic Chemistry and Physics will be important in this science club. If you have questions about this please email
the instructor, Madame Atom, @ atomscienceclub@yahoo.com to learn more. She is happy to set up a free Zoom meeting to
discuss this with you and your child. Other than that, all that’s required is a large pile of 3×5 cards, a hole punch, binder rings, a

the landing of Perseverance, its next robotic rover on Mars, this coming February. As excitement builds, A.T.O.M. Science Club will
conduct a special online program that will allow students and their families to participate in this adventure. Club members will learn
about the Perseverance rover and its mission and look back at the rovers and landers that journeyed to Mars before it. They will
learn how to use NASA online tools to explore the surface of Mars as seen through the eyes of many scientific instruments in orbit
around Mars. Each month, we will chat with a NASA scientist to learn about different exciting landforms and locations on the surface

gives them the full meal, not just the appetizer.
