Victoria House Forches SticklepathHot Drink Danger
Please can we remind visitors and providers of groups that we do not have hot
drinks in our play rooms at any time.
Children are the priority in our spaces. Hot drinks are not just a potential burn or
scald to a child exploring their environment; they are also a distraction from the
purpose of the group: for parents/carers to be involved in their children’s learning in
the space.
At Victoria House we have redesigned the kitchen space to include a couple of
café tables. There are plenty of high chairs for children so that if a family coming for
an appointment or before/after a group wanted a hot drink they are welcome to do
so. We are sorry that we do not have this facility at Sticklepath
Children’s Centre.
Thank you
Diane Pedley
Children’s Services Manager
Congratulations to all our new volunteer recruits that
have just completed their 12 week training course.
The volunteers are hoping to help in our groups from
September across Barnstaple, Braunton and
Ilfracombe. When you see them please give them a
massive welcome.
In the first quarter of this (financial) year April to
June, we had 21 active volunteers who gave us 408
hours across Barnstaple Children’s Centre services.
We’re looking for new people to get involved.
As a forum member, you could do things like:
No experience necessary, just enthusiasm and a willingness to be
involved. Crèche provided for formal meetings if required/booked.
Meeting Dates: Second Tuesday of each month, 9.30 until 11.00am
If you’d like to get involved, please speak to Dawn Williams via the Children’s Centres or
