6 Foundation Decatur Parks Foundation By encouraging the financial support of businesses and individuals, the Decatur Parks Foundation supports the Park District’s facilities, parks, and recreation programs, which spur economic development, nurture our citizens’ health and well-being, and enhance our community’s quality of life. Hello! My name is Alyssa Delatte and I am the new Director of the Decatur Parks Foundation. I am a lifelong community resident and am honored to begin working for such an incredible organization Foundation Directors right here in my hometown. Recently, I transitioned Rod Schanefelt, President from the practice of law to my new role here Ellen Hearn, Vice President at the Park District. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family as the Mindy Chadwick, Secretary Foundation Director and can’t wait to show you James Neff, Treasurer how passionate I am about the success of the Brandy Brown Park District and the Decatur Parks Foundation. My goals as the new Director are to connect with Brian Byers supporters of the Decatur Park District, increase Jim Schwarz awareness of the Foundation’s mission and advance the Decatur Parks Foundation’s Mark Huss impact within our community. Kara Johnston The Decatur Parks Foundation’s purpose is to support the overall mission of the Bruce Nims Decatur Park District by procuring funding for the maintenance and advancement of the grounds, recreational programs and the arts currently housed at the Decatur Michelle Reynolds Park District. The Foundation, through our collective talents and resources, has Chris Harrison, Park Board Liaison cultivated support to the Park District in community partnerships, corporate Stacey Young, Park Board Liaison sponsorships, and individual donors since 1981. At the Foundation, we are working on a number of events coming up in Spring and Honorary Members Summer, so there are so many ways for you to get involved or support the Decatur Dr. Bill Van Alstine Parks Foundation.
