WHAT IS ?
GLOBAL is an international culinary competition and tourism platform
celebrating the ancestral culture of Mexico through education, cultural
        exchanges and content-rich media.

The culinary competition begins with international chefs from five nations
(sponsored by tourism partners) paired with host chefs from Mexico.

Together with notable media, artisans and partners, the chefs from five
countries embark on a week-long journey of gastronomic destinations, farm
visits, masterclasses, guest chef dinners, market tours, sponsored activations
and media receptions in hopes of building the winning judge’s plate.

GLOBAL is a series of collaborative workshops and events to create an international
ecosystem of gastronomic tourism narrated by influential chefs, story tellers and media

TRANSLATION = COMMUNITY
The key to food culture is understanding the genetic code and nothing is more important
to Mexico than the *mayoras that carried traditions from farm to village for thousands
of years. Our goal is to translate historic traditions and regional influences through our
“ancestral lens” of gastro-tourism.

            * Mayora is an exclusively Mexican term for head chef, a cultural tradition that is on its way to being reinstated after the success of modern-day Mexican cuisine.

WHEN
Q4 - 2020
The cacao bean, the basis of cocoa and chocolate, is one of Mexico’s many
culinary gifts to the world. Very few understand the genetics date back to 2500 BC.

Mexico is one of the very few places in the world that can offer hundreds of
romantic culinary experiences alongside deep-rooted ancestral and historical
context that merges thousands of years of culture and traditions.

The list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Mexico is the most in all of the Americas
and also ranks 7th in the world. There are 35 sites included in the list as of 2018
making it a perfect country to host GLOBAL.
