Another Amazing Coffin Cup!
On Friday, July 19th the 24th annual
Coffin Cup Regatta was sailed in a
gentle northwesterly breeze in Polpis
Harbor. Thanks to the hard work of our
NCS instructors, we were able to sail 6
RS Quests and over 20 Optis (plastic
and fiberglass) on two race courses.
The racing was followed by an awards
ceremony. Thank you to all the parents,
caregivers, friends and siblings who
came out to watch - and for those who
loaned their boats as spectator boats. It
was a great day!
Homeport Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
We had an amazing Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at
Homeport last week! Thank you so much to everyone
who came to help us celebrate the new dormitory that
will house NCS summer instructors for many years to
come! A special thanks to everyone who was involved
with the construction of Homeport and those who
donated their time or money to help make the dream
of an independent NCS dorm a reality!
New Online Lesson Booking Software Launched
NCS will be using FareHarbor for booking lessons and rentals at the
Jetties Sailing Center this summer. We’ll also be using it to book
lessons on our J/105s and foiling boats (Waszp and UFO)!
We’re booking up fast! So make your reservations and Check out
the new site by going to our website and clicking “Book Rentals/
Lessons”. We’re looking forward to getting you out on the water
this summer.

us to raise roughly a quarter of our annual operating budget.

Learn to Kiteboard This Summer
Come out and learn what kiteboarding is all about!
Next Level Watersports will be providing a “First
Tracks” demonstration (exclusive to NCS student
members!) to teach participants the basics of how to
fly a trainer kite and walk through all the equipment
involved. If you have ever seen a kiteboarder from
afar and been curious, this is your opportunity to give
it a try! Demo will be on
Monday, August 5th (ages
8+). Registration can be

Our UFO Has Arrived! Try Foiling Now!
For advanced, active, fit sailors looking to take the next
step, foiling is where it’s at. You’ll fly through
Nantucket’s Harbor at speeds as quick as 20+ knots.
WHOA! Our new UFO is incredibly stable, and is
awesome for those looking to try foiling for the first
time! To book a lesson, check us out online. Email

Announcing Our Silver Sailors Program
NCS is excited to launch "Silver Sailors" a unique program where we aim to partner our older
sailing friends with our younger NCS volunteers. By filling out a short form on our website,
sailors age 65 years and older are able to share with us their skill level; boat of interest
(Rhodes 19 or Marshall Cat 15); and availability. NCS will then work to match a younger
volunteer with each Silver Sailor or match Silver Sailors together. The goal of this program is to
expand opportunities to get out on the water, to sailors across generations. If you are a "Silver
Sailor" and are looking to get out on the water, but may need an extra hand and some company,
please consider this program. Questions can be directed to emily@nantucketsailing.org. If
you’re a silver sailor, please fill out this form.
