Askari Game Lodge lends itself to family fun, group excursions and outdoor
activities surrounded by the majestic Magalies Mountains and stretches of
grasslands all within the Plumari Private game reserve.
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES (ON-SITE) Elephant experience • Walking with our elephants (1 hour) We want our elephants to be elephants, and with this in mind, we ensure that our elephants are ‘doing elephant things’. • Touch and Feed Educational Experience (1 hour) This is an interactive experience where you have the opportunity to touch and feed the elephants. Please note that children under 12 are not allowed due to safety reasons. For more information please contact our Rangers Office or visit www.zemvelo.co.za. • Elephant Proposal (includes a proposal, picnic and 1 hour Spa treatment) Game drives (Winter: 09h30 & 15h00; Summer: 06h30, 09h30 & 16h00) The Plumari Game Reserve boasts an amazing natural African bushveld with an abundance of flora, fauna, birdlife and wildlife. General Game Drive (2.5 – 3 Hours) Family Game Drive (1.5 – 2 Hours) Game Drive after Sunday Lunch (14h30) (1.5 Hours) Guided Walks At a leisurely pace and led by our trained guides, the walks are designed to offer a fascinating insight into the wonders of nature. ADDITIONAL ONSITE ACTIVITIES Askari Game Lodge through Zemvelo Adventures is able to offer guests the following: • Survival Skills • 4x4 Trails at Warthogs Bush Camp • Clay Pigeon Shooting (Min 50 Clays per booking and 3 Days Notice) • Horse Back Riding (2 – 3 Hours) • Potjiekos Competition Please note that advance bookings and minimum numbers may be applicable. Plumari Heritage Museum Located onsite is the Plumari Heritage Museum which pays tribute to the brave warriors and intrepid settlers who helped to shape the region with a unique display of items that give insight into the area’s often turbulent past. Take a leisurely walk through our ‘hall of history’ filled with magnificent ox-wagons, carts and other animal drawn vehicles and absorb some history of the area. This exclusive tribute to the early Settlers is said to be one of the largest privately-owned collections of wagons and carts in the country. History talks are available on request and entry is complimentary to the lodge residents. Opening hours: Monday through Sunday: 07h00 until 22h00. For more information please contact our Front Desk.
Askari Spa Escape and unwind at Askari Spa. Choose from an array of soothing massages, signature facials and body treatments. Soak up all the benefits our spa has to offer. Opening hours: Monday through Saturday: 08h00 until 17h00 Sunday: 08h00 until 16h00 Please contact our Spa for information. Pool Deck and Swimming Pool Our pool areas offer fun for all ages. The pool areas are reserved for guests staying at the Lodge. Swimming is at your own risk and children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Appropriate swimming attire must be worn. Pool towels For your convenience pool towels are available at the pool areas, additional pool towels are available from our Front Desk. The Curio Shop The shop includes a variety of affordable memorabilia & gifts. Opening hours: Monday through Sunday: 07h00 untill 19h00 Location: The shop is located at our Front Desk.
