will maintain normal operating hours unless directed otherwise by manage-
ment and as long as instructors and staff are available. If a decision is
made to cancel programs/classes or to close the facility, we will post it
on the Rec Center’s Facebook page, and on the Weather Hotline ASAP.
Although we strive to give early notice of cancellations, various circum-
stances could affect our ability to notify the public in a timely manner. We

Butler Baseball Camp
This camp is designed to instruct youngsters in the fundamentals of
baseball, hitting, fielding, pitching, base-running and game situations. The
camp is conducted by the Butler High School baseball coaching staff and
team, under the direction of Coach Trent Dues. The Butler program has
become an area and state power during the last fourteen seasons.
Ages: 4th – 9th Grade Boys (grade is based on the ’20-’21 school year)

Our private swim lessons are for people of all ages and levels. If you prefer
a 1-on-1 lesson, our instructors can help you achieve your swimming
goals. When registering for private lessons, please be sure to provide as
much information on your swimming experience so your instructor can
best prepare for your lesson. Private lessons are offered in a 3-pack. Three
private lessons will be scheduled at the same time each week and can be
completed within a 4-week period.

Adult Swim Lessons
If you are an adult (16 or older) and are uncomfortable in the water, or have
no previous swim lesson experience, then this class is for you. Students will
learn basic swimming techniques and key water safety skills. The class will
be led by an instructor who will guide students through a series of progres-
sive activities. Students will move through the activities at an individual pace
while building confidence and comfort in the water. All levels welcome.

Summer CampREC
Each week is themed for maximum summer excitement and includes a
variety of activities. Children will participate in swimming, climbing wall,
field trips, presentations, activities in nature, crafts, and recreational
games. All camp leaders are CPR certified and have completed various
camp training sessions. Registration begins April 14 at 7:00 am. Parents
will receive a parent packet at registration with important forms to complete
that must be turned in before children can attend. Be sure to pack a lunch
and drink!
Camp will begin on Tuesday, June 1 and run through Friday, August 13.
Camp runs from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm with structured activities during that
time. FREE extended hours available from 7:00 – 9:00 am and
4:00 – 6:00 pm.

Camp takes a weekly field trip to various places every Wednesday. Any
child signed up for a field trip day must attend the field trip. There will be
no supervision at the VRC while the camp is on the field trip. All field trips

VRC Home Run Derby
Play Ball! Come on out and see how many home runs you can hit! There
will be a Boys Baseball Division and a Girls Softball Division and there will
be different age ranges with different distances that will be considered as
a home run. You can show up anytime during the designated time and the
first place finisher from each division will win a gift basket! You do not have
to be present to receive your gift basket.
Ages: 7 – 18 years old

Vandalia Parks QR Code Scavenger Hunt Art Park Yoga
