Two, 8 Lane, 25 metre pools with Omega Electronic Timing System with three, 50m lane
warm up/cool down space.
SANCTION: This meet is sanctioned by Swim Alberta #TBA
RULES: The meet will be conducted under published FINA and/or IPC rules and regulations
supplemented by published and approved Swimming Canada and Swim Alberta rules and
regulations. In addition, this meet package shall outline all changes to and specific
application of the published rules. Swim Alberta policies and procedures, where appropriate
will also apply.
DIVING RULES: Starts will be conducted from Starting Platforms (blocks) as per FINA FR 2.3 and SW 4.1.
ELIGIBILITY: This competition is open to all swimmers currently registered with Swimming Canada or a
FINA affiliated club.
ENTRY RULES: All entries must be submitted through the Swimming Canada online system.
Deck entries will be limited to swimmers who have registered for the competition through the
Swimming Canada online system.
Scratches prior to the Scratch deadline will only be accepted on-line.
No-time (NT) entries will not be accepted.
Deck entries will be accepted as exhibition swims, at double the entry fee, only if the entry
does not create a new heat.
ENTRY FEES: Timed Final Events $10.00
Heats & Finals Events $12.00
Relays $14.00
Entry Fees are non-refundable after the scratch deadline.
ENTRY LIMITS: The meet will be limited to 600 Swimmers (includes a maximum of 250 swimmers in the
10&U Session)
All swimmers are limited to 7 Individual events, plus relays.
Swimmers (11&O) must meet the qualifying standard for the following events: 200 Breast,
200 Fly, 400IM, 400 Free, 800 Free and 1500 Free (cannot be a bonus event).
No Qualifying times required for 10&U swimmers.Kinsmen Sport Centre

SCRATCH
DEADLINES: The Swim Alberta Scratch rule will be in effect for this competition.
For Positive Check-in events (400Fr/400IM/800Fr/1500Fr) – Swimmers must check in 30
min following the start of warm-ups for the session in which the event is scheduled.
Swimmers for the 11&O 400Fr and 400IM will have three options for check-in and must
declare one option: swim as seeded, swim in the AM only, scratch. Failure to check-in by the
deadline will be deemed a scratch and the swimmer will be removed from the event. There
is no penalty for swimmers who fail to check-in.
Once checked–in a swimmer is not entitled to scratch from the event. No-shows, step-
downs and unexcused incomplete swims will result in the swimmer being scratched from all
remaining events, except relays, scheduled for that day.
Scratch Deadline and Penalties for Relays & Finals - Scratches for Saturday Finals are to
be submitted to the Clerk of Course 30 minutes after the conclusion of the 200 Fly Prelims.
Scratches for Sunday Finals are to be submitted to the Clerk of Course 30 minutes after the
conclusion of the 200 Breast Prelims.
No-Shows, Step Downs, & Late Scratches - No penalty for Prelim events or 10&U events.
In Finals, the offending swimmer will be scratched from all remaining individual final events
for the session. No penalty for Relay missed swims, however please make every effort to
scratch unnecessary relay entries.
MEET FORMAT: Distance Swims (10&U 400Fr, 11&O 800Fr and 1500 Fr):
Ø Top eight of each gender and of each event will swim one per lane
Ø The 800m and 1500m will be seeded fastest to slowest. The first heat of 800Fr & 1500Fr
will run concurrently in opposite pools alternating female/male.
Ø Swimmers may not enter both the 800Fr and the 1500Fr.
Ø Meet Management reserves the right to Double Lane the remaining heats of 800Fr and
1500Fr. 10&U 400Fr will NOT be double laned.
All 10&U Timed Final events (except relays) will swim fastest to slowest, in individual Age
Groups. Age groups are: 8&U, 9 years, 10 years.Kinsmen Sport Centre

All 11&O Prelims will be senior seeded, by gender, slowest to fastest. There will be 1 “A” final
to be determined by the following age groups: 11&12, 13&14, 15&O.
All 11&O Timed Finals (400Fr, 800Fr, 1500Fr, and 400IM) will be senior seeded, by gender,
fastest to slowest. Results for these events will be determined by the following age groups:
11&12, 13&14, 15&O. The 400 Free will have the Top 8 per gender, per age group swim
during the finals session. The 400IM will have the Top 8 per gender, regardless of age swim
during the finals session.
Clubs shall provide one parent for every six or less 7&U swimmers in the warm-up. Parents
must check-in with the referee for the marshal briefing 10 minutes prior to warmups on the
pool deck.
Only accredited and participating swimmers, coaches, and chaperones will be permitted on
the pool deck and in the facility locker rooms.
Access will be through the main entrance of the Kinsmen Sports Centre. Only meet officials
who are working that session will be permitted on the pool deck. Team photographers will
only be permitted on the pool deck at the discretion and approval of the Meet Manager.
Team photographers are required to check in at the Officials table to be given accreditation
for the session.
RELAYS: 10&U relays will be swum as timed finals, senior seeded by gender. The 200 Freestyle relay
will swim fastest to slowest on Friday night (Session 1) and the 200 Medley relay will swim
slowest to fastest Saturday afternoon (Session 3). The Relay age group is 10&U.
11&O Relays will be swum as Timed Finals senior seeded by gender. The 200 Freestyle
relay will swim fastest to slowest on Friday night (Session 1) and the 200 Medley relay will
swim slowest to fastest Saturday night (Session 4). Results will be determined by the
following age groups: 11&12, 13&14, 15&O.
Relay Cards with names are to be submitted to the Lane Timers at the start of their heat.
The Chief Timer will collect the relay cards at the conclusion of the event and names will be
reflected when results are posted.

Coaches Technical Meeting will take place at 3:45 PM on Friday, January 18th, 2019 in the
South West corner of the Pool deck.
AWARDS: 11&O Individual Events Medals for Top 3 finishers in each Age Group.
11&O Relay Events Medals for First place finishers in each Age Group.
10&U Individual Events Bears for First place finisher in each Age Group
10&U Relay Events Bears for First place finishers.
