CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
The Secretary and Committee earnestly requests your co-operation by observing the following
Conditions of Entry:
THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH
‘EXCLUSION OF LIABLILTY’ PRINTED AT BACK OF SCHEUDLE
1. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY THE REQUIRED FEES
2. Please note closing date and you are requested, please, to lodge entries with
Secretary as early as possible before the period for receiving Entries closes.
NO LATE ENTRIES PLEASE - NO PHONE CALLS AFTER 7.30PM.
3. Each Exhibitor or agent must be prepared to verify every statement contained in
the Entry Form in any manner the Show Committee may require.
4. The decision of the Judges must be accepted as final.
5. Should any dispute arise for which a specific rule is not provided, such matters in
dispute shall be referred to the Committee, whose decision shall be final, and in
no case can there be an appeal to law.
6. The Association reserves the right to postpone or abandon the Show but will not
be responsible to an intending Exhibitor for loss incurred by reason of such
postponement or abandonment.
7. Any person entering an exhibit and failing to send same for exhibition, shall forfeit
the Entry Fee.
8. Every effort will be made to commence the Classes and Events listed on this
Schedule at the time stated.
9. The Committee has made every endeavour to avoid competitions overlapping,
but competitors must appreciate that no Class can be held up awaiting their
convenience.
10. THE COMMITTEE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY EVENT WHERE
INSUFFICIENT ENTRIES ARE RECEIVED.

1. No article to be removed from the Show before 5.00pm on Saturday 14th July, and
sheet with numbers must be provided must be produced to steward in charge before
exhibits are collected.
2. Please ensure all entries have number firmly attached.

4. EXHIBITS TO BE LEFT IN MARQUEE, FOREST PARK, ON THE MORNING OF
OUR SHOW. SATURDAY 14TH JULY BEFORE 10.00AM SHARP (unless

5. Prize money should be collected from Steward-in-Charge between 4.00 and 5.00pm,

6. While the Committee will exercise every care, all exhibits, personal property, etc. will

compensation for loss or damage by theft or any other cause whatsoever.

TWIDDLE MUFF FOR ALZEMHIER PATIENTS
We introduced this charity class in 2016 to support dementia patients which had proved very
popular. Dementia patients often have restless hands and like to have something to keep their
hands occupied. The knitted muff with items attached is something they can twiddle with in
their hands no matter if they are in hospital or at home. The entries will be donated to AGE NI,
Castlewellan, Day Centre and will be distributed to people in the area. This is a very
worthwhile project for the show and we hope you will support it. If you have any further queries

QUALFIER
Class 67 – The Irish Shows Association & Tullamore Show Society present
The Odlum’s All Ireland Home Baking Championship

Rules & Conditions:
1 Each competitor must bake all the four items listed using Odlums products
(a) Decorated Chocolate Cake (20 cm/8ins Round)
(b) Lemon Drizzle Cake 900g/2lb Loaf
(c) Quiche Lorraine 20cm/8ins Round
(d) Multi Seed 900g/2lb Loaf
N.B. All Recipes can be found on the Odlum’s website. Own recipes may also be used
2 Items to be displayed in individual plates and each exhibitor will be allotted their own space
(trays optional) on a base 24” Square.
3 Points will be awarded for taste, texture, appearance of baked items and presentation.
4 The Competition is confined to amateurs, both male & female, with one entry per exhibitor
at the final.
5 The items must be fresh and home baked by exhibitor.
6 A special class will be held at each qualifying show . Two entries may qualify from these
shows for the final, if the judges agree that the standard is high enough. The Qualifiers
from each of these shows will go forward to the final, to be held at the Tullamore Show on
Sunday August 12th.
7 All items will be cut and/or sampled at the final.
8 Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a hamper containing Oldums products, on
appearance at the final.
9 Certificates will be awarded to the finalists.
10 The judge’s decisions at all stages of the competition, IS FINAL
11 Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk.
12 These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.
13 Marquee open from 7.30am on show morning and will be closed for judging at 10am
sharp. Marquee will be open to the public at 12 noon and exhibits may not be
removed before 5.30pm

FLEECE MARQUEE
Spinners from the Ulster Spinners and Weavers will be converting Fleece to Yard and
explaining the steps involved. Demonstrations of the felting process by Liz and Maria using a
variety of fleeces will be followed by the opportunity for visitors to “Have a Go”.

The Castlewellan and District Agricultural Show Committee, which organises Castlewellan
Agricultural Show in order to promote agriculture, requires all entrants and exhibitors as a
fundamental condition of entry to undertake and accept that the Castlewellan Show Committee
shall not be liable in any way for any claim for compensation or otherwise which, may arise out
of or be connected with the Show including without prejudices to the generality of the
foregoing, the holding, abandonment or alteration of the date of the Show, omission of any

entry, the rejection or removal of any animals or other exhibit, the removal or exclusion of any
owner, groom, rider or attendant from the Show, or the appointment decision, act or omission
of any Judge, Officer, Official, employee or other person connected with the Show nor shall the
Castlewellan Show Committee nor any of its judges, officers, officials, employees or other
persons be in any way responsible or accountable for anything that may happen (from any
cause or circumstances whatsoever) to the Exhibitors or their Attendants., or to any exhibit or
property brought into the Show Grounds or for anything else in connection with, or arising out
of, or attributable to the Castlewellan Agricultural Show.
Each Exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any consequential or any other loss, injury or
Damage done or occasioned by, or arising from any animals, or item exhibited by him/her, and
for its description as given in the Catalogue. Exhibitors shall indemnify the Castlewellan &
District Agricultural Show Committee against all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto.
All entrants, exhibitors/attendants are asked to comply with the above rules
